Just been out for a late afternoon kerb sesh down the local carpark and the Olympics effect has taken hold.
We turn up and there’s a really tall, really beautiful, heavily tattooed Thai lady with massive fake knockers in full pads/helmet surfing around the carpark on her own on a bright yellow Creature complete.
Alongside her are 3 mid 20’s southern PR/marketing types on Penny boards all doing ‘hand on the floor surf turns’ around empty coke cans.
All dead nice, decent little sesh.
All started up because of Olympics/Sky Brown etc.
Bonkers
Extra LOL to add.
My daughter really enjoys waxing kerbs for whatever reason and none of the people there understood what she was doing or what relevance wax had to the marks on the kerbs.
Apparently there have been major breakages aplenty when people decide to drop in for the first time because “Olympics” and get absolutely served
I’ll chase it up tomorrow, see what Saturday/Sunday hire is free.
Remember learning to drop in for the first time, winded myself so badly I was just stumbling around the park lol.
Had a good skate today, did my first switch ollie. It seems to be easier with your back foot in the pocket so the tail hits sooner. Skate hacks tutorial helped with that.
Skating switch I set up every trick so differently to regular. In addition you hold your shoulders really differently riding switch which changes any tricks with a turning element (most tricks). It’s a fun challenge though
Yeah for regular ollies I put my back fot more on the tip of the tail. I think I’ll try to get comfortable with rolling switch ollies then try a frontside 180.
I’m all about that pocket on switch tricks. Not that any get off the floor anymore.
Blaming my blowout for lack of manoeuvres today.
Since running more instead of my legs being super strong and giving me previously unknown levels of skateboarding skill they have now become two useless heavy weights. Pushing is fine but any tricks, even ollies feel like a chore.
May as well order my longboard now.
Think we’re doing Wednesday night now but cheers!
Anyone else is welcome to get involved
Because of running?
I reckon so.
Running makes you fitter you can skate/stress for longer.
at pioneer?
Yes! You about?
got no kids, I’m always about.
oh shit! see you then
Looking forward to this. We should film our shenanigans and put it in the footage thread to the dismay of the mods.
Oh god who wants to see that?
