Illegal Tricks

This. One wrist guard is necessary sometimes

I think the wrist guard is least of Steve’s worries, check the gersh

Yeah wristguards are not aesthetic but fashion should not trump health. Imagine if doing something specifically gave you cancer, people would not do it, would they!
OH

I don’t mean £85 hoodies give you cancer.

the gersh lol.

I had a translated conversation with a friend who owns a skateshop in Japan once about the universality of the ‘gersh’ term. They still use it too.
LOL

Just watched the new FA/Hockey vid.
Surprised by a few tricks in there.

Kadow’s backside 5050 nollie heelflip out. How do you even think of that? ILLEGAL as fuck.
Sean Pablo has a kickflip backside 5-0 filmed as a single. Not sure what you guys think of this trick but it’s very Mosher Tech in my book (less is more, check his Suski grind).
Oh and the second to last trick of the whole vid is the most illegal trick according to Danny Renaud in his recent Bunt interview. Hahaha.

At the start there’s a, presumably switch, kickflip, then a heel flip and then a turn of the board and stance before heading for the bench.
That turn surely needs to be a trick of some sort.

Can’t think of a specific example but a flip backside 5-0 down a hubba is a super elegant trick.

On a regular ledge… Hmm. Illegal for pros but fine for us bros.

It used to be one of my stock tricks when I was a teenager and I was never a mosha.

Absolutely. Ricky and the Love crew would never allow that.

I never really liked them. They’re not offensive, just not very aesthetically pleasing.

I’m thinking of one done down the lyon hubba I think… Just can’t think if it’s real or if I’ve made it up in my head.

Something in Sorry? … I dunno. My kid isn’t sleeping so I’m a wreck at the moment.

Apples, down Clipper.

Jamie Thomas has done a couple good ones.

Appleyard in Sorry has a great one.

I want to say Leo Romero did a good one but can’t recall

Personally, I think a flip 5.0 down a hubba is fully legit, especially if you balance it.

Thats the difference, flip in to controlled balanced 5.0, or slopping on to a tail down plough… Can be done nicely for sure.

Thanks!

Its funny because immediately preceding that Appleyard backs up my varial heel argument from earlier in the thread. He does it technically perfect (bit of arm down… But fine) like all his other tricks and not even he can make it look good. It’s just inherently stinking.

The flip 5-0 is an absolute peach. Just… Ahh. So nice.

Varial heel is at 4.30.
Flip 5-0 is the next trick.

Sorry Les…

I like the aesthetic that edits can be the average skate sesh but this was particularly weak. All fashion and no substance. Obviously there was some good stuff in there, Sage, Bradley and Louie but everyone else, whatever. I assume that their “real” footage is being saved for something bigger. The fashion kids look like they take themselves way too seriously, if you’re going to put out an average skate sesh then why not have fun.
OR, the way we see skateboarding is being manipulated so skateboarders can have careers without killing themselves and older pro’s eek out careers.

It’s pretty much all footage from a brief European tour, was an article in Thrasher on it last month

I just see it as a tour vid with a pretty fun/ loose editing style. Not something that people really ‘worked’ for
