Also to say that Labour have fucked over the NHS to the degree the conservatives have in the last 10 years is pretty disingenuous.

Whilst the previous Labour government fucked up by going along with PFI other than that they invested massively in what was a criminally underfunded NHS and saw clearly measurable benefits in outcomes. The NHS sticks in the craw of the Tory party, they absolutely fucking hate it on an ideological level but their problem is that people actually love it. And so they just try to erode and damage it bit by bit so that it can be “fixed” by more and more privatisation. There’s thousands of ways they have tried to fuck it over.
As to whether a Labour government would have handled htis epidemic any differently is hard to know, but there is little reason to suspect that they would have initially gone for the same slightly maverick approach only changing to a more sensible tack once disaster was assured.

there’s that thing about people doubling down on their beliefs. it was talked about a lot during brexit stuff when all the evidence was coming out that it was a shit idea and the reasons why people had voted for brexit were a lie. you tell someone that the NHS bus was a lie and they tell you that actually that’s not why the voted all along etc.etc.
the Trump voters that i know love him because he’s a “great businessman” which has saved the US economy that went down the toilet with Obama. you can show them graphs that prove that all of that is bullshit and they’ll swear it’s wrong

Well the demographics of his supporters are the most likely to be victims of the virus. Age mainly, then the all American BBQ fast food eating lot with a major touch of obesity.

Trump clearly had no idea of what the consequences or the repercussions of killing Qasem Soleimani could of been when he ordered the drone strike and his arse started to twitch a little when it dawned on him after.

As much as you’d want that to happen, he’s too narcissistic and wrapped up in himself for that to happen. He’d have to care about what everybody thinks - he simply surrounds himself with adoring Yes men and women to make sure he hears what he wants to hear all the time.
Wife’s mate is an A&E nurse at the Royal in Glasgow and she says it’s eerily quiet. Much quieter than normal because people aren’t rushing there for any old thing, so the doctors and nurses are basically just waiting for ‘it’.
They’ve got decent masks but they’ve only got the shitey gloves.
Yeah our emergency department is well quiet. Blackpool and town’s shut though so that’s a lot of their usual shite gone.
