The worst thing about this Dominic Cummings shit is how utterly helpless we are to do anything about it. What can we actually do?
You can point out the inaccuracies and lies and shit until your blue in the face (see every sentient person on twitter right now) but they are just going to triple, quadruple… all the uples down on backing him at the expense of getting people to follow public safety rules in the future.
I’m so angry I can’t quite articulate it.
To have such spineless coward at the top is the thing that’s sticking in my throat the most.
I hope Boris Johnson’s name becomes a byword for cowardice in the future.
Gove coming out with some blood boilers this morning - quotes such as “ fair-minded people will understand that (Dominic Cummings) acted in a way that was designed to reduce the risk of any infection spreading, whilst also protecting his family” and claiming he also has driven before to test his eye sight.
Gove is full of shit.
From arch enemy of Boris during the leadership campaign to being his devoted wingman.
I don’t trust a word that comes out of his face.
It gets so boring listening to politicians dodge questions. It’s like a part of it that we just accept and nod along with but really it’s one of the craziest things in politics.
I can’t begin to explain how angry I feel about this whole thing. My wife’s mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the start of the lockdown. We live in the Black Country and my wife’s family are in Cornwall. So naturally we haven’t been to visit. I’ve also seen my best mates mum pass away during lockdown, COVID-19 was on the death cert but there were numerous things wrong with her at the time sadly. All of us have stuck to the guidelines. However mentally and emotionally tough it has been. And of course there are gonna be tons of others who have been through similar too. And for Cummings to go on tv and not show a single big of empathy or sympathy for that shows how fucked we are. Not just that you also pretty much the whole party defending him and that pillock Gove pretty much laughing about it all. Need to have a day off it.
Years ago, I once thought I was on the same train as Theresa May and I asked her why she hated poor people so much. It wasn’t Theresa May and I’d just berated some random old lady. I hadn’t been aggressive or anything but I felt horrible. She was pretty cool about it though, turns out she doesn’t like her either.
Never asked myself why she was riding standard class on the Southern Rail to Norwood Junction, I doubt she goes there much.
Just saying, if you’re gonna slap someone, you need to be 110% certain it’s Michael Gove.
Ha it was defo him , unquestionably, you could see how uncomfortable he was being in a packed train constantly looking with paranoia but trying not to show it . Stood out like a sore thumb.
Everyone was double taking at him and he was on edge as people passed him to get off the train.
At the train station one time I saw this guy Derek (who had left my work to work on the trains) wiping down the ticket machines. We always got on and I thought it’d be a laugh to give him a fright, so went up behind him and said something a lot like, “Haha, you prick, what did you do so badly wrong that you’ve been given this job?”
Wasn’t Derek, dude looked like he was going to cry. Couldn’t even explain that I thought it was somebody else who’d find it funny that I was pointing out the shit job he was doing.
