Once had a cop tell me he had a 42(maybe the right number) calibre pistol and he knew how to use it.
I was just skating a random spot in downtown LA

The ones I’ve seen just look too overweight and lazy to do any actual policing, they’ve always been a fairly mixed group of races from my experience as well but that’s hardly anything I’d want to say is backed by any real numbers!

But also got pulled over in rural Oklahoma last year (i wasnt driving) for speeding. And he just told us to be careful.
But all of us in the car were honkeys

Let’s not use that word either.

Yeah, I’ve only had two instances of actual experience with US cops, and both of them were really positive. One was in a shopping mall in Florida; I’d have only been about 10 or 11, and I wandered off to play a GameCube that was on an advertising display, and this guy who was exactly like Sergeant JW Pepper from the Bond films helped me find my parents. He was bloody lovely. The other was a Latino cop in Vegas a couple of years ago when I was out there with two mates. We’d just walked out of the airport and were waiting for our Uber, chatting shit and he walked over and just told us that he wanted to welcome us to his hometown and he hoped we had a great time.

I’m not saying there aren’t problems, there definitely are, on the same trip we passed a hotel with an absolute shitload of police cars outside, blues and twos on and all, and we later found out a man had been shot dead by the police. If I remember rightly he was waving a machete around and had injured a few people. In that situation firearms might get called here too. I dunno.

While in places it’s DEFINITELY an institution built on power crazy white dudes, for the most part I’d guess most US cops are normal blokes doing a job that is pretty dangerous by standards of policing throughout the western world. I wouldn’t blame a lot of them for being on edge. I imagine the amount of them suffering from PTSD and stuff is insane.

I haven’t but if they’re anything like the airport security/immigration officers then I understand. Got a sweat on just talking to those guys

A police officer has been shot and killed. This is going to escalate out of control. Where as the police were on the back foot before, now they will feel like they have every right to shoot first and ask questions later again.

Has that been reported in the media at all? I can’t see anything, if true then this could get a whole lot worse.

Thinking back to when this happened now, I was with another white
English guy and two Hispanic American lads, I thought nothing of the cop giving us shit and was defo being a smart arse and cheeking him a bit but the two Americans were obviously terrified ā€˜yes sir no sir’ looking shook. Never really thought about why, just assumed everyone is scared of police in merica but them being Hispanic defo wouldve played into their fears im sure.

Going to NYC one time I got pulled out of the queue at Dublin and taken to a ā€˜waiting room’ that just had a bench and me in it. Door wasn’t locked or anything. After what seemed like fucking forever I got taken through to a room with screens in it, and one of the screens was a pile of bags. Got asked if that one there was mine, and it was. Thrasher board bag, so easy enough to spot amongst the suitcases. Got put back in my wee room for forever, again, before being told I could leave and pointed in the general direction of where I’d came from. Wife was livid, fully thinking I’d tried taking weed or something, we were the last people through the barriers and last in our seats, and I was fucking shitting myself, thinking I’d forgotten about weed in there or something.

Never had any problems with US police all been really good people, I became mates with a K-9 unit officer too. Makes me mad that you know the is a right way to do shit that’s not very hard but this world still fucks up like it does

He is absolutely fuming. Reading it doesn’t sound too bad but the way he delivers it…

He’s not coming back to do these for a good long while.

I swear they just do stuff like that to keep themselves entertained. Especially if there’s nothing going on.

I once flew from Kenya to The UK with a pocketknife in my hand luggage. I was on a group trip, was 18, and some guy in the group put it in my bag. I didn’t even think. To this day I have absolutely no idea how it didn’t get picked up by the scanners, at least on the UK end. This was about 2005, so very much post-9/11 awareness.

insane thing to do this

If it all goes to plan, it means Brits could see the rocket flying over the UK 15 minutes later, which will be around 9.45-9.50pm BST.

It’s America the first one to launch from American soil since 2011.

Not 8.45? Have I got this completely wrong? It’s launching in 20mins?
