Beirut explosion is in a major port where there is often huge fuel depots. Gonna guess that was the main blast, complete with shockwave and mushroom cloud.
Israel would definitely benefit from Lebanon being weakened, again.

My cousin lives in Beirut close to the port, just got a call from her saying she’s ok thanks to her husband who pushed her out of the way before their windows blew-in (she’d been looking outside at the smoke from the smaller first explosion). I’m very relieved she’s ok but man the whole thing sounds like a nightmare, Lebanon’s economy was already massively fucked and political/civil unrest in the capital was getting increasingly hectic anyhow.

It’s weird when you have family elsewhere in the world and suddenly something occurs in a place you know that they are local to.

Just watched the full interview. It’s completely batshit insane from start to finish. I thought that clip about testing was bad but it’s 37 full minutes of it. 5 minutes in he’s talking about drawing large TV ratings, while 150,000 people have died. Honestly if this is your guy at this point then you’re a bad person. There is nobody that is still fully behind this man that’s doing it in good faith

I feel that i’m a bad person because I actually feel that these people really need to fucking die so the gene pool improves.
Will watch the whole thing later. But I agree with your point, and I’m left wondering, what does he have to do for Republican party to abandon him, and say enough is enough?
I am guessing it will be when he loses in November, and they will suddenly drop him like a stone. Lots of senior republicans will come out and try and act like they never supported him, and similar bullshit like that.
Then he’ll stand as an independent, with his ‘own’ money.

Thanks everyone for the kind words re. my cousin in Beirut. Just got a message from her that she went to hospital for stitches and is shaken-up but ok. Her house looks pretty wrecked though, and it’s relatively not even that close to the source of the explosion…
