The government awarded contracts of ÂŁ108 million to various companies, one which made confectionary and one fishing netting. One was a hedge fund called Ayanda Capital which was given ÂŁ160 million to produce masks to a low spec. It looks like it was able to sell at the height of the pandemic and then there were no sanctions for late delivery.
