I still don’t understand what that vote thing was all about. Same as most Tory MPs I think.

I think the vote thing (the vote on fracking) was this: MPs were told that they should vote for fracking, in line with what Truss wanted, and a vote against would be seen as being disloyal, with a consequence of being booted from the party. The problem was I think it was against Tory manifesto from 2019, and many MPs were against fracking.
Tory Manifesto from 2019:
We placed a moratorium on fracking in England with immediate effect. Having listened to local communities, we have ruled out changes to the planning system. We will not support fracking unless the science shows categorically that it can be done safely

I try and avoid mid week drinking if possible but the Tories so often just make it really hard not to pour a glass in celebration
