It makes you wonder at what has occurred in the past for them to behave that way. Obviously not looking for excuses but I just can’t rationalise such actions.
I imagine the gun thing makes things infinitely worse. If you turn up to anything - a traffic stop, a house crime, whatever - and there’s a risk that someone will just shoot you dead then I think you’re gonna have a hard line attitude to everyone.
Every American cop I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting was on some mad power trip. I got pulled over driving in California and he pulled a gun on me as I got out of the car. Surreal

I’d imagine this was because Americans have some kind of etiquette behind what you are and aren’t supposed to do during these kinds of interactions that are all centred around both parties being sure that the other isn’t going to start shooting at them, and being non-American he did things that’d be normal anywhere else in the world.

I thought it was well known that if you get pulled over you do not get out. You wait until the cop comes to you.

I was genuinely doing what I was told. He shouted orders at me from a megaphone mounted on the patrol car and then when I got out he pulled a gun on me.

They have this weird rule where you can turn left or right at a red light. I don’t really understand it and I was just driving normally. Apparently because I didn’t make this turn he thought I was drunk or high so he pulled me over. I got out because he told me to and he saw I was a young gothy skate guy and the gun came out quickly. My dad got out the car too and the gun went to him too

What I find even more incredulous about his murder was that all 5 of the cops fired the other day over this are black. Institutionalised hatred.
