Sat and listened to my mum at the weekend say she feels sorry for Boris, because “they’ve stabbed him in the back over and over.” I made the point he’d spent the last 10 years or so pissing people off and making rope, it isn’t any surprise that people have queued up to hang draw and quarter him with that same rope. Both my parents still see him as this man of the people that the establishment has held back and buried. The cult of personality he’s built is remarkable, I’ll give him that.
