At the time I worked for a private telecoms firm that was sub-sub-contracted to carry out repair work on the fibre connections damaged in the tunnel.
As part of the contract we had to earn our permit to work and sit some exams at the main underground training centre in Stratford. This was a fortnight after the bombings, I was sat in a conference room answering questions on what actions to take when discovering a suspect package on TfL property when some panicked guy burst in to tell us there’s been more bombings.
Thankfully these copycats failed to detonate. The exam was paused so we could all ring our family and let them know we were alright. I received my permits in the post a week later but never got a chance to use them as my boss didn’t want to risk it.

Mad. I was at college and we were all watching the news on tv in the common room. Eventually my mum called me to say dad was ok, he worked in Moorgate and I didn’t even think to call him!

I was on the train before it, and arrived at work to a pretty bemused boss laughing that my mum had called the hotel where I was working. To be fair, I don’t think he realised how serious it was.

Girlfriend at the time had gone into work on the tube earlier and was caught up in the mayhem trying to get home for hours. I had a day off work (and wasn’t using tube daily at the time anyway) and remember watching the craziness unfold on TV

I was in Birmingham when they bombed london and in London when they bombed Birmingham. Think there was a week or so between them. Pretty sketchy

Yep it’s all a bit crazy. A minute of security tape is missing, there is no client list suddenly. That’s been talked about by multiple sources within the government. Virginia Giuffre (Prince Andrews victim who took her own life), was homeless and found work at Trumps golf course, Mar-a-Lago, where Ghislaine Maxwell then started grooming her, introducing her to Epstein for trafficking. Have we all got the tin foils on yet people?

Why don’t they just delete any mention of Trump from the list/files and release it?
Trump was use to getting blackmailed by the mob, unfortunately, or fortunately I think he would have been woke enough to distance himself from that.
Because of all the other inconvenient names on the list? I bet it’ll all come out once they’ve finally all passed away.

Anybody remember the heady days of not caring who these fuckers were and living in some form of blissful ignorance until really big things happened.

It really wasn’t that long ago when the typical person didn’t know who was running the country bar the Prime Minister and possibly one or 2 other names.
Since the Tory shit show, you feel you know everyone, even back benchers.
We shouldn’t really need to know all these people because the country should be running without massive errors and scandal.

I don’t know, I feel like even Spitting Image for one gave people an idea of most of the people running the country and beyond, even through their cartooned characters, HIGNFY has been going 35 years. Then shows like Yes Minister gave people an early insight into how politics work. If you think about unions and miners strikes, MP sex scandals and dodgy dealings, Gerry Adams and Northern Ireland, all the politics and politicians outside of Number 10, I think normal people have been politically aware through the years.
