Interesting article about the recruitment drive for ICE agents - targeting audiences at rodeos and bull riding events
“For new recruits, the government is offering bonuses of up to $50,000 and forgiveness of student loans. And yet that breakneck growth means corners have been cut. For ICE agents, the training regimen has been reduced from five months to as little as 47 days. A previously mandatory five-week Spanish language training course has also been binned.”
I heard that a lot of ICE agents are not getting paid or receiving promised health benefits. Also that $50,000 is broken down over 5 years ($10,000 a year), taxed and if they are sacked or quit within the contracted period they have to pay it all back or whatever they have received, fully, the whole pre-taxed amount. In 5 years there will have been an election and hopefully the Democrats will be power, so that $50,000 will need to be paid back. With no option for bankruptcy as it’s paying back the government.
There is a whole Reddit on it apparently where ICE agents are openly talking to each other about all the issues they are having.

This is a pretty good breakdown and analysis of the state of affairs up to that point. As well-off as Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell are, they’re able to draw upon their experiences in government to explain a lot of what Epstein did was
a] talk endless bullshit and name dropping to get people “in”
b) facilitate hundreds of “microfavours” across the elite
c) have endless backdoor access to the UK government in particular via Mandelson throughout the great financial crash and when the UK coalition government was setting up from 2008-2010, which most definitely was connected to changes in fisacal policy and further leanings on monetary/economic policy.
I heard JE described as a financial terrorist, manipulating / predicting world events for profit on the currency markets
Don’t know how much evidence actually backs that up but sounds feasible with the Mandleson leaks he was getting

This isn’t a skatepark. It’s a couple of council ramps plopped on a bit of tarmac about 25 years ago.
I only know one lad in Northampton who’s ever skated it. Awful excuse for a skatepark in a proper rough area.

To be fair to the journalists, they probably don’t know the difference between a shit bit of tarmac with some ramps and a proper skatepark. I think to your point, though, ‘proper rough’ area is the key fact rather than ‘skatepark’.
