Maybe this is a bit glass half full but I see a safely left wing seat where the far right have made massive inroads. It doesn’t bode well at all. Still relieved on the face of it but not jumping for joy like this is some sort of turning point.

I’m seeing a polarisation of politics towards harder versions of left and right, at least in some areas - both mainstream parties coming behind the Greens and Reform.

I think today’s Green Party has become more a progressive alternative to the left of Labour, rather than the ‘straight’ eco party it was when it used to be called the Ecology party.
In the same way, Reform has become an alternative to the Conservatives on the right, rather than Farage’s former EU-focussed UKIP and Brexit party.
Tories only got 706 votes, Sir Oink A-Lot got 159! Still worryingly high for Reform. Just a 48% turn out too.

That’s the impression I get. It’s quite funny in a way as there’s probably more green issues than ever they could cover now; EV’s, water companies dumping sewage, fly tipping, data centres etc.
Sounds like he wanted to say Special Military Operation but someone had already taken that one
