Farage must be feeling very proud this morning that the word pogrom is being used correctly and without any kind of irony in the 21st century.

Just listening to a BBC presenter refuse to say that Rupert Lowe and Restore Britain are racist. Like trying to say water isn’t wet. And then they wonder how we got here.

What an absolute fucking lunatic.

This seems completely normal as well

What exactly are they going to be hitting very hard if all their forms of defense are already gone? I know he’s quite unpopular but really it’s amazing how many Americans still think he’s great.

Maybe I’m being optimistic but I don’t think that’s the case.

I just mean he still has about 35% approval.

@hugo what are the betting odds on a terrorist attack in the US (Canada/Mexico), or an assassination attempt on Trump during this world cup?

I’m no expert but those who still respect Trump are either those raking in the money, nut jobs or those with low IQ and no balls.

Average Americans are not stoked since their cost of living has gone up notably gas/petrol, their social ranking is in the gutter when they travel abroad and even Republicans are starting to step away from the shitshow with the midterms on the horizon.

That’s the thing, they don’t link the two. No one likes to feel stupid so the average american will happily believe it’s ā€˜Biden’s economy’ that is the problem. Even though he hasn’t been in office for over 500 days.

It’s not something you can bet on due to ethics

This is what I can’t my head around, I know all sorts of politicians can and do drop many promises they’ll have made to get elected but it’s way beyond that. It defies definition now other than just being very much pro-Israel.

This John Healey resignation seems well sketchy to me. Suits Maga’s narrative to a tee without being too tin foil. Hegseths best mate

Religion is a helluva drug. Abortion, gay marriage, white supremacy, guns. All things alot of Americans put above anything else and they know Trump will always protect ( or destroy ) those things, even though he is the most un-religious person on the planet.

Maybe those things are enough to keep a certain percentage of them still behind him :man_shrugging:

Can’t see it somehow but then it is easy to forget how different things are out there.

Starmer being out of office by the end of the world cup would be a pretty good bet now.

I don’t know how a PM can survive a defence secretary saying you’re not keeping the country safe.

It’s such a political move. If the defense budget is his motivation I don’t see how this makes any difference to that really. It’s weird. There was no danger of him not continuing under Burnham or whoever so it’s not saving himself from the sinking Starmer ship. The only motivation I can see is just adding to this paranoid narrative that we’re heading for WW3 so they can justify less spending on public service/welfare etc. He wanted to take money for the NHS budget for weapons. I don’t believe anyone is going to, or could, fire a nuclear weapon at anyone in the modern age. It’s a racket. The idea that Iran or anyone else would be able to fire a nuclear weapon even if they had any desire to is a complete fantasy imo
