I could get some branded UKSF rose tinted spectacles printed up for all you old fucks that want your old era of skateboarding back. I get it but the world’s changed. Even the subtle change from mid to late 90s when thps dropped I wasn’t that into. But that’s how it goes I suppose ![]()
Yes please.
If they could extend beyond skateboarding and into every day life that’d be great. Thanks.
He’s like that Chavvy fuck that comes to the local skatepark, has a go on your board, next time you see him he’s better than you ha ha
Not sure about that one, we’re all old farts I’m sure but pros still release proper video parts that get plenty of hype and full length vids still get made and bought. Yeah some people can make a career totally outside of all that but it doesn’t mean the more traditional way has died out.
No one said it’s died out. Think Spanky is saying more that some people don’t want any other way to exist
It can exist, it’s just shit isn’t it.
The day we stop legitimising things purely based on monetary gain the more we’ll see true quality rise to the surface.
As for Aurelien, he’s obviously insane and he’s probably a nice kid but it just does nothing for me. It’s possible to be impressed and feel sick at the same time.
I wish he would just react nonchalantly when he lands it, would it make it so much better.
Skating has always had both sides of the coin, the core dudes and the money dudes. I was referring to money because someone said he could be an ‘all time great’ and I was replying saying I don’t think he gives a shit he’s in it to be a mega star and make loads of money. He’s doing some of the most ridiculously hard stuff ever done on a skateboard and making bank as a result.
Anyway I don’t really see the issue in wanting to and succeeding in making as much money as possible through skating, it isn’t at anyone else’s expense and is just milking corporate companies like Nike and Red Bull for as much as possible.
The money dudes were good before and generally are still good.
Now there’s ‘new money’ in youtube ads and skaters having a big audience who probably shouldn’t (Braille and Revive).
The type of content that a high percentage of kids love is no longer based on skill and style.
Skill and style still sells (Lucien on LV) but now so does games of skate on a glass board (Braille on youtube).
Supreme absolutely killed it by putting on a bunch of unique kids with different styles and fashions. To me that is how you appeal to a younger generation of skaters.
No kid who comes up on instagram or youtube will ever be legit.
But they might make some money.
More footballer steeze.

Forgot he was a massive FC Barcelona fan?
he’s been skating those curbs in VB a lot recently. super smooth stylish grinds. he should stick to that kind of stuff and put out a chill part
Pure power, no fannying about.
I’d like to see him put on a pair of chinos or respectable fit jeans when he skates the odd time.
