i don’t think we have many great examples of young talents being particularly well led in skateboarding tbh. the prime example I can think of from our generation is Bastien Salabanzi. Probably not the healthiest group of people to be around whilst you’re growing up (young Geoff, young Arto, young Ali etc.)
again there are some good people in the industry. People like Rob Selley over here and Jim Thiebaud over there seem like good heads, it’s just a shame how many young people seem to get used and discarded
And that’s the thing, Its usually by non skateboarding influences flashing the cash and fame for a good culture box ticking exercise.
Anyway this is never gonna go away and we’ll forever be talking about it . Just hopefully less than more.
Was it much more fair when Rocco was doing it back in the day? I dunno, less of a giant corporation I suppose.
Just putting that out there, it’s not that comparable really.
