Iām getting to the point of wondering if it is us that are wrong. I.e., sould we let these kids self congratulate how they feel because, they have probably just done something ridiculous and the feeling must be crazy afterwards OR do we keep chastising it and ask of them some humility or modesty. I dunno. I think it looks cringey when people are so stoked on themselves but honestly, itās been so long since I have felt that good on a skateboard and have never broken any ground enough to warrant that reaction, so I canāt relate.
It looks ugly but itās increasingly more accepted.

Because skateboarding as a whole has increasingly turned into a sport, thanks to the Olympics, corporate brands entering the industry, energy drinks and all that stuff. This doesnāt mean it has changed to us, old skate rats. Iāll stick to what I believe in, in and out of skateboarding: humility and modesty will always be better than pride. I started riding a skateboard because skateboarding was not football or hockey, 33 years later I still skate as much as I can, I canāt change that, no matter what happens on television or on Twitter.

Absolutely unacceptable and terribly sad. Probably wouldnāt have happened if skateboarding wasnāt in the Olympics I suppose, but then again, is skateboarding being in the Olympics the real problem? This arsehole would have forced his son to be the best breakdancer or the best pistol shooter or whatever if skateboarding didnāt exist. Hopefully this will go viral and heāll get what he deserves. I donāt know how child abuse laws work in China but Iām trying to stay positive even if watching this kinda ruined my day. Poor kid.

Was gonna post that last night but I was raging , what an absolute fabricant , heās gonna have to stay away from skateparks cos heās gonna get a fucking hiding for doing that to his kid . And he fucking deserves it if it happens , all on him.
Many of us called out the pushy parent side of skating now there are various medals on offer , but this is just too low .
Itās what people wanted and this is the unfortunate side of it .
If I see that happening In person Iām straight in there stopping that shit .
Should be no place for it , itās not and never is what skating is about .

At the moment Iām running ads for the Welsh Gov to remind people that physical punishment is illegal in Wales. The comments as you can imagine are hundreds and hundreds of people saying it never did me any harm etc. Theyād love this.
The funny thing is if we made an advert about how itās illegal to smack your pets around absolutely no Michael Fabricant would say a word.
