That was worse than I was expecting and I was expecting the worst.
Itās fantastic innit? Iām gonna save it so whenever I feel terrible I can watch it and know Iām doing good.
Pretty sure he is already in the pit?
Iāll have to refollow. It did get annoying for my phone to beep and some fucked up hours to tell me daveed is online in a vest and his grundies!
Nah I grew up skating mini ramps so this is perfik for me, ledge skating is so over saturated what is he going to do that hasnāt been seen 4million times before?
Something you can relate to? Thatās the whole point of that kind of content to me.
Not sure how to post a story. Tom Asta is a bit good indeed.
But can you not relate to quarter pipe tricks? I wonāt ever learn anything new again so all of its not really relatable to me anymore
I can for sure, but you know how they say diversity is the spice of lifeā¦
2 months into my 40th year on this planet, I decided that I wanted to learn 40 new tricks (tricks that I had never done before) before my 40th birthday. I ended learning 57 new tricks that year. On quarter pipes, on ledges, on manual pads, on banks, on flatground. Some were decent in my eyes, some were some weird curb dancing moves inspired by obscure late 80s videos. I had fun learning every single one.
You can too, but you have to be in the right state of mind for it. GO!
I remember a Rocker (I think?) interview where he said that landing a new trick and learning a new trick are two different things. In a time of one off miracle flips. That always stuck with me.
Iāve got two tricks on lock in my later 40s
Iāve wanted them both for a long time
Cmoac
Yer Iām shitting myself doing my usual stuff so new stuff is petrifying
Never say never @neddy. I got my head down and learnt 360 flips at 45. I have landed them sporadically since early ā90ās but couldnāt ever say I could do them.
Of course you donāt want to do a crooks down the park rail any more. Neither do I. Technically, we could, but weāve done it. Many times. Maybe enough. You have to adapt to your body aging and find spots that are fun to skate, then ideas for new tricks will come naturally.
Whatās your tips because mine are like 1 in 10 and itās annoying.
Haha, Iām by no means consistent at them but it was the back foot toes - Tom Roehler (Toms Tutorials YT) and PRod tutorials (his from last year) were the most help for me. Also I always seemed to have my weight too far back, shifting forward seemed to help. I will have to record some and see if theyāre acceptable and not too stinking when watching back, but got a few last Friday night which was pleasing. Im going to make sure I do at least a couple every session from now on though.
Mine are awful. I donāt like scoopy tricks that way. Perhaps Iād prefer laser flips and should just learn them instead
Canāt 360flip done about 5 ever
Landed a few of the tre flips back in the day, but I always struggled stopping my shoulders opening up and turning frontside
