Instagram Blowouts

I always used to do them by accident on EA Skate and it really pissed me off every time

Ryan gallant has a pretty good one over a hip in something but can’t for the life of me remember what in

Is that not just a hardflip late 180?

Same thing right? A hardflip is a front shove and kickflip. So an extra rotation would be a frontside big flip

But Gallant’s doesn’t have that extra rotation?

Shouldn’t it be like a 360 hardflip, with the body also rotating 180? Or am I just misunderstanding what a big flip is? Am I thinking of a bigger flip?

bigger flip

No you’re right.
A big flip is 360 flip and a backside 180.
I just think a hardflip caught, then turned front 180 would be a front big flip as the board is doing a flip and turning 360 frontside and the body is doing a front 180.
Half of the big flips done are an over rotated varial flip, caught and continued around with the body, which is what gallant has done but frontside.

a bigger flip is the board doing a 540 flip and the board doing a back 180 (but I think more realistically most people are doing an over rotated 360 flip then catching and turning board and body 180.

I don’t know if I’m right for what it’s worth. But I’d class what gallant did as a good looking ā€˜technically’ frontside big flip. Even though I’d probably just call it a hardflip front 180 or something more manageable.
I can imagine Jeff dechesare doing a fully rotated 360 hardlfip plus front 180 and feet meeting the board at the floor and it looking awful. But I’d probably say that and the gallant clip are the same trick, just one done well and one done badly

This non debate did not warrant that word salad

I spotted a Jeff YT video earlier. I’m not gonna watch it haha

Wow it’s actually insane that he can do that, no less on a head height block 4.
What’s more insane is that it looks even worse than you would imagine.
What’s even, even more insane is that he made a trick tip for it, like anyone else in the world is even considering trip to do that, let alone learn how to do it off the equivalent of a 10 set

I love jeff

That was exactly the trick I was thinking of and seeing it in reality makes me wish I hadn’t thought of it. I still think Gallants trick is different, but what’s not up for debate is how nice his looks.

I wonder if anyone could actually make that look tasteful?

Jimmy Carlin (possibly marmite but I am a fan) used to do 360 hardflips, he’d probs be the closest to doing a nice version of this trick. And even then…

I remember seeing Alex Moul do one down a set in a video that I can’t remember and it gave me Dechesare vibes back then.

On Dechesare, I can’t get past the fact that he needs the stairs to do the trick. I can’t see him landing any of that on flat. Listen fair play to the lad though
