That thing is fucking huge

fucking hell i gasped when i saw this earlier, no idea how he pops so high he barely even has to bend for it !

Be on Skateline I reckon.

I’m looking forward to this new part.

Same here but the reality is, it could be fucking awful.

i dunno his insta footage is pretty strong still. i have high hopes

New part Aug 19? Did we miss it already?

That’s what I’m thinking.

He’s never put out anything awful.

It won’t be ground breaking, it’ll be the greatest hits of nollie flip crook, switch tail, flip back tail, nollie biggie… But he’ll look good doing it

It’s… Mark Appleyard. How could it possibly be awful?

Or do you mean the production around the skating?

He could skate flatland for all I care. One of the best styles ever.

For one thing, the trick in that post looks awesome! In my opinion at least.

For sure, but he is possibly the laziest skateborder ever post-flip.
I’m a big fan. He has an incredible style but was massively let down ever since he has been on Element.

He always was fairly diverse with his tricks and then he just seemed to whittle it down to parts filled with nollie big spin variations. It got boring quick, for me.

I always assumed he moved to element so he didn’t have to do anything

He’s had about 3 parts since flip?

Ever? Really?! I’d love to know what your view of some other pros might be.

lol. chill out.

The guy was one of the most talented skateboarders ever. He has one of the best parts in the largely forgettable Xtremely Sorry.

Two years later, he switch to Element and has made what…one part? Soul Rebel? I can’t find it online anymore but I remember is just being nollie bigspin overkill. He had a minute or so in Peace I think but I can’t think of anything else in the last ten years.

Around that Soul Rebel time, he had an interview talking about how he doesn’t want to do anything where he might get hurt anymore which I just took as ā€œhe’s over itā€.

So, yeah - pro who kinda stopped trying at the age of 27.

I’m not even hating. I’m a fan. I just wish he had carried on pushing himself for 5-6 years longer.

You are sort of right that he stopped pushing himself post flip - that early career energy that got him rookie of the year, skater of the year etc sort of petered out.

But the quality of his output never dropped off, it’s just he’s sort of stayed at an even level of quality. And it’s not even like he’s just been chilling, he’s still throwing himself down stuff.

Maybe he would have benefitted from a later career defining trick (a gallant clipper Ledge or Reynolds Davis gap), but I’ll happily take anything he’s got.
