It’s one of them frozen baths.
Icicly water’d.

Good living out there on the North shore. Coconuts. Proper dad bod.

If I never had to hear Mark Oblow speak again it would be too soon.

He’s more like Conan, isn’t he?

I started it and thought to myself “I bet that Mark guy pops up soon”… and there he was.

No one wants to hear or see that guy.

Gave up after 20 minutes. Found it profoundly boring.

Love Arto though. Thanks for destroying yourself for my enjoyment.

How do you possibly withstand a 124 degree sauna? Wouldn’t your blood literally start boiling?

Not to detract from his story but right off the bat, the start is just describing every skateboarders struggles. I will watch more before judging of course, we already know parts of his injury story so there must be more? he’s one of the best to ever do it and always seemed like a good dude.

It’s pretty incredible how good his surf photography is. Some of the best I’ve ever seen.

I didn’t. He actually claimed it and went on to give the fahrenheit reading (255).

I’m here for it.

Huge Arto fan, but he was on the Nine Club not that long ago and has obviously already had the Epicly later’d treatment. Is this worth the time?

Slightly wary of a series called ‘Let it Kill You’, and its romanticising of bloody-mindedness, when men’s mental health issues have been such a prominent issue for the last decade plus. Perhaps an alternative title, ‘Have a hobby, but don’t let it overwhelm you, remember breaks are healthy’?

I agree, this clearly illustrated that he should never have been going as big as he did by the time he got to filming for Mindfield, it just looked reckless at that point.

Soz. Didn’t get to that part

Yeah. Doesn’t sound very healthy.

Maybe Im miserable but when the black and white photoshoot with his wife popped up, I thought it was too naff and turned it off.

Discaimer. Love Arto, obvs.

Tough crowd. I thought it was a nice piece - it avoided any mention really of his previously documented struggles with alcohol. Overall it felt pretty positive, he’s ended up in a good place, and his story was told in an interesting way by focusing on the photography, avoiding dwelling on the negative stuff for the most part (Dylan’s death aside).

Lives in Hawaii, has a hot wife, became a great photographer. Double concussions and paper knees aside, things have, deservedly, for worked out well for him

Also lolled at Appleyards ‘if you’re here for perfection fuck off’ line

Nine Club is so embarrassingly shit that it shouldn’t affect anybody wanting to do proper interviews anywhere else.

Very true, but I was thinking more in terms of will I get anything new out of watching this?
