Really sad to hear that Paul shier decided to end isle skateboards.it hurts what’s left of the UK skate industry.strange how more people cared about landscape closing down five years ago than isle.it depends on which of those companies decks who actually liked more.
I mean quite a lot left really.
Not much left compared to 20 years ago.isle going is very bad news if they could not survive on board sales just like landscape whos decks I really liked for a long time.
Skate Cafe, Yardsale, National, Death I mean there’s plenty more as well
I’ve skated since 1990 and have never bought any of them brands.more blueprint and panic.i knew a few people that worked for new deal UK and at their height they would never sell UK decks , even when I spent 8 months once constantly putting together various teams for them.they did have reaction but they were pretty weak wood and graphic wise yet had a few standout skaters like Neil Irwin and Flynn trottman.the response I got was why would anyone buy an english deck over an a American one and they made a few million on dwindle stuff so never seem to care about supporting or growing something born out of england.i bought landscape over any UK company at the time.iam glad dwindle fell apart it was wack in the end and a far cry from it’s 90,s golden era.
Who remembers proper UK skateboard brands? None of this Yard Cafe malarkey.
I remember when it was all Death Box as far as the eye could see!
I’m no Heathen. Nowadays I Love’n’skate and have a right Blast!
What was the number of uk skate co’s a few years back? Like 30 odd or was it more?
This is what we came up with for all U.K skateboard companies ever at the time… I’m sure some were left off by msitake and new ones have started since.
Thanks. I’m of the Blueprint OG era so bought a lot of that and Landscape
I wish it never went. Skated so many Landscape boards post Portraits
Joel Curtis Half Face Smile was mine
I just remembered motive , that was a pretty dope company ran by mk legend rob selley.the dimensions video from 2009 with Sean smith with the last part was a classic.
Aren’t UK companies brilliant all that hard work and then being shafted by the yanks and their global domination.trump and Nike SB anyone.
Anyone know what happened to Jack Edward’s? He was incredible.
Motive MK kid?
Jack Edwards was from birmingham.pretty sure he stopped skating regular and got a regular job.i have not seen him attached to anything let alone in person for a few years now.
