Jason Isaacs

I think he was wrong to say he was a pro, and also wrong to say he did demos, opened parks and was in the magazines. The skateboard version of stolen valour, this guy.

Agreed! Gives wrong impression saying this in 2025 - whatever he did or didn’t do in 1978

As somebody else said, he’s probably expecting to say this stuff to his own audience and it be such an ‘obscure’ thing to talk about that nobody else would pick up on it. Hadn’t heard of him until now, but fuck him anyway.

Oh pardon me Kalson, if that is your real name, Jason Isaacs

I’ve heard a few times, obviously from people who have no idea how old I am and that I actually know stuff about skateboarding, ‘’Well, you see, back in the 70’s I was on the Benjy boards team.’’ When a more accurate statement would be, ‘’ Back in the 70’s I wanted a Benjy Board but my folks bought me some plastic piece of crap from Woolies or Boots.’

I’m pretty sure if I’d bothered to press them with a question along the lines of’, ‘’ok, who were you on with then?’’, they’d likely fluff about with, ‘’it was a long time ago, I don’t really remember.’’ Bollocks, you were as much on Benjy Boards as I was a member of the Bones Brigade.

Specifically with this Jason guy, I have never heard of him in connection with skateboarding. A photo of an old school kickflip bail on a borrowed Roskopp face whilst dressed like a Jacamo dad does not a pro skateboarder make.

Meh. I still like him.

Just to give him the benefit of the doubt, if he was actually once involved in a small shop team 40 years ago, but didnt keep up with skating in any way after being a kid, maybe that’s just what he thought being pro was, just getting some free boards?

He wouldn’t have been ‘Jason Isaac’s the actor’ just a random kid, so unsurprising no one really remembers him

Can absolutely say I’m not Jason Isaacs. If you want to think that you can - but it would mean Jason Isaacs has been posting here for four years or so about the 1970s and 1980s skate scene.

I suppose I should add the caveat that I also have never heard of him as an actor. I had to check his IMDb filmography and can honestly say that I have never seen any of his films. I have heard of a few but have never seen any of them.

Also, I did call bullshit on a kid telling me bitd that his dad used to skate with Stacy Peralta. It turns out it was true, so you never know. I’d hazard a guess, like has already been said, it was a shop team kind of a deal if anything.

As an aside, I’ve been surfing with a guy who works ‘in movies’’, I think he’s probably an editor but have never bothered to ask. He worked with Stacy for a few years on and off and had no idea that he used to be a pro skater.

100% what Jason Issacs would say in this situation

I know. I know. It was just funny that it said you hadn’t posted in 3 years and then looked like you were leaping to his defence. I’ve nothing against the fella to be clear

Jason Isaacs would take a 3 year hiatus from posting about himself.

SEO content dropping RE pro skating.
