Lines.

A thread about lines.

Skateboard lines* are great!

Very nice interview with Tom Knox about lines in skate videos.

Also really enjoyed an article aaaages ago in Sidewalk about the 10 Greatest Lines of All Time (or something). Would be incredibly difficult to compile the same thing nowadays, I’d imagine.

*or “sequences”, if you’re a young Danny Brady…

Busenitz had some crazy ones at 3rd and Army, long ones with zero pushes, that are ill in videos but then you get there and realize the ground is harder to skate than it looks and said lines are much gnarlier.

Lavar did some fantastic ones at Pier 7. That one with the mirrored backside nosegrind reverts, holy shit.
Djaybee Djilette at Hôtel de Ville too, obviously.
Worrest at Pulaski. All of them.

MJ had incredible ones in Man Down.

Firs one here. The nollie flip is well good and the fakie flip up the curb the hard way is awesome.

Yes great shout. Love watching Dave Abair footage. The line at the start is great too, nothing crazy but so cool. Always loved that cheeky back 3.

He seems like a bit of a prick but I’ll let him off.

First one here’s not too shabby. Especially for 1991. Were lines even much of a thing then?

Abair charging down the streets of San Francisco is always a treat.

Tyler Surrey is really underrated. His lines in SD schoolyards are always mental. Tech as fuck and he skates fast.
