I’d rather drown in crumbs than give up my boy Henry.
Henry for the cars, DIY and whole house clean, shark for day to day. This is the way.
Big fan of Henrys over here. A politely bullet proof and repairable.
As I’ve said before, real G’s have the version before the EU restricted the wattage ![]()
We switched from Dyson to Henry earlier in the year. There’s a reason you’ll only ever see professional cleaners using Henrys.
Came here for hoover recommendations and got answer from previous posts! Thanks gang!
Ah fuck, I was forced into getting. Dyson V10.
Turns out the trusty Henry wasn’t doing the job I thought and the first run round was certainly an eye-opener.
We have a cordless vax at home it wouldn’t touch the shop carpet, the hand me down Henry we got for nothing is great. Just fitted a new filter and bag and it’s fine.
Still bitterly disappointed with this Dyson that was over 600eur
Should’ve got a shark, the fucking thing is hopeless, can’t even pick up little bits of paper
Wife over the moon with it though so if she’s happy then a peaceful life it is
Had 2 dysons, admittedly the cordless ones but had enough of them now, absolute waste of time. As the main hooverer in the house I’ve got free rain to get whichever one I want. Feels exciting… Which makes me feel very Mark Corrigan.
Time to cop some vintage heat.

Anyone got any sewing machine knowledge/recs? Is buying second hand worth it or should I just get new?
I’ve decided the only way to get over my T-shirt madness is to learn to alter my own clothes.
Ive wanted to make my own shirts and stuff for ages. Let me know how you get on
I bought some cheap shit from dunelm to turn up curtains and it’s been fine. Made some cushions out of some random fabric. Would love to make more shit but it’s having time with all the other stuff I want to do.
T-shirts need a special over locker though no?
Been with enough sewing ladies to know you basically pay for what you get. Go low just in case you find it a ball-ache.
I’ve had many over the years. Go second hand and as long as it’s something with a zigzag stitch you can get away without an overlocker.
I had a pal in Manchester who’d buy stuff from the charity shop for the fit and un-stitch it all and trace the panels on onto new fabric and sew it back together with decent results. Mainly smart shirts and mental Hawaiian / bowling shirts. They had trouble with collars and cuffs occasionally but this was before YouTube.
Minimal knowledge, but I have a basic Brother one that i use for hemming tee’s, trousers and other bits and bobs.
Is good for help.
(Sewing Bee too if you want to get ideas above your station).
Not stoked. I think I’ve hit a cat turd with the lawn mower this morning. The shed smells bad this afternoon.
