Music thread

The music nerd in me is disapointed in two aspects at the moment:

  1. it took me until now to get into this and somehow glossed over this project, especially when I listened to DnB non stop a few years back.
  2. That it was Graham Sutton and Daniel Gish from Bark Psychosis who were in this project and I probably also glossed over that fact when reading about it a bunch getting into them.

I probably listened to this a bunch when I would spin the “Grooverider Presents: The Prototype Years” compilation and never thought much of it.

Woah that’s mad - never knew that.

Boymerang’s couple of 12”s before this one are wicked too. Some heavy amens.

Cor heard a clip of new burial earlier and it sounded absolutely naff

Man there was a time and a place for new Burial but it’s not 2009 anymore. Not even gonna try and seek it out

For anyone that watched the three seasons of Dave, Lil Dicky just dropped Penith today.

Gave the turntable a service and now I’m sinking all my pocket money on records.

It’s nice to put an album on and properly listen to it rather than just background noise. Haven’t done that for ages.

Thought I’d share a mix I did a couple of years back. If you’re in to 90s hip hop and downtempo it might be up your street.

Lovely bass line and tone

If anyone fancies anything from this label there’s a 50% off code of
moreandmorehappynewyear til the end of Jan. Doesn’t work in the app btw

I like the John Shima and Morphology stuff

I loved Squarepusher. But the past…oh…16 years…pretty terrible.
This is kinda sick, tho.

Also, the video is a modified CRT TV with some sort of control to only react to elements of the mix (I’m guessing some sort of compressor on the signal…) and a bit of processing to do the titles. But live in one take…pretty fucking cool.

Maybe I missed some good SP in those last 16 years?

I was about to say that there are some great bits of SP in the past 16 years then I looked up that Just a souvenir was 15 years ago. A weird album which has some of the worst SP on it but a golden handful of tracks in the middle. Ep just after, Numbers Lucent is good too
most things after that felt freezing cold in sound but there are a few fairly decent bits dotted amongst.

Yeah, I have both of those. They have some really good bits on.

Only thing I bought since then was Damogen Furies and it was shite…

That said, this was also good albeit a bonus track tucked away somewhere:

Have to admit his music never clicked for me except Red Hot Car which is almost a novelty track anyway

I’ll give this a go through

He’s had some good moments.
I could probably throw up a top 10 tracks ever on here…maybe tomorrow. Tired now.

I had the ultra visitor 12", quite liked that

Good name though. Means acid dealer right?

A very conservative top ten
