BaySixty6 on 16th May. Mega sick lineup - Reynolds, Foy, Tiago etc.

Anyone know where else they’re going and when? Heard possibly Rollersnakes.

It’s just Bay I think and then maybe something ‘unofficial’ on the Friday TBC. They’re heading to Den Haag this weekend and then coming over to London on Tues I think.

Would love to go to this but pretty sure my 38 weeks pregnant wife would be so annoyed she went into labour.

Great line up and it’s rad to see companies doing tours again.

hyped to hang with Tiago

Well jel

If you have the chance to see Aimu kickflip… take it.

Check out Tom Knox’s story for some Aimu mini ramp perfection.

Well…that Bay demo was fucking mental.

I await the Thrasher vid/article with bated breath.

The whole thing looked amazing from what I’ve seen on Instagram. You were getting pretty hyped eh?

Yeah it was pretty bonkers. No better voice than @anonymity’s to hype up the crowd and riders. Lovely day!

These are the kinds of events I wish I could make but either they come around with short notice or I’m not in the loop so just don’t hear about them

Good to hear the dulcid tones ark. Tom Schaar is on some next shit

It was hard not to get excited tbh given the levels. I am biased because Seb et al are genuinely my mates and I know nearly all the NB riders but for me, this is how a shoe brand should be doing it.

Deece PA too so my throat doesn’t hurt that badly. Been a long time since I did any MC’ing but I truly enjoyed chatting shit on Sat. What a blessing to be asked to do things still.

p.s. also the first time my daughter has ever been to a heavy demo like that or seen her fat old dad do the mic. She was secretly impressed (I hope). In the tour bus again chatting Japanese to Aimu. How delightful.

I’m sure she’s well aware of your status you just don’t notice. They’re like sponges x

It feels like a year or two ago one of the man gripes shops and consumers had was the death of the demo.

Now it feels like NB are leading the charge on getting everyone stoked again.

Would I be biased in saying UK demos bang harder because there isn’t a language barrier for the US pros?

The US dudes were pretty shocked at the turnout. They signed shit for over two hours. The line just didn’t seem to get smaller. They were all extremely hyped! Shout out Mackey, Baines, Seb and co for organising such a good one!

Some heavy street clips went down as well along with Jimmy and Tom Schaar hitting Tottenham DIY and that vert ramp in the church.

It was the same in Holland. Lots of young kids, parents, women and OGs together - hyped, responsive and enthusiastic crowds. A team with every type of skater who clearly understand the point of demos, which is to make skateboarding exciting and aspirational. Every single rider was polite and friendly to every attendee. Big signings at both. New Balance are doing it proper and that’s because that ethos comes from the top down. It’s not a coincidence that people like Seb Palmer, Baines, Mackey, Chad Tim Tim, Levi Brown are involved at high levels - the all-skater-run ethic is real with NB. This is what doing things right looks like. Yes they have the money but, more importantly, they’re not afraid to spend it on doing things correctly. Great product, happy riders, happy crowds. Like it should be.

Can echo that the Australian demo they did was similar. Massive crowds, lots of hyped kids, endless patient pros signing and chatting to all the kids even after a long demo.

I know at the end of the day, it’s still “sportswear”, but surely no other company since the THPS boom days has done more in terms of grass roots support and events.
