Why don’t they just build in the the edge of that bank to kerb so that you grind the length and come back into the park? Either slight hip style or just angle the bank down. As it is, you’re only really getting use of a small middle section of the kerb based on the angle you use to get to it. There is wasted concrete and effort in making the top 2 corners of that whole obstacle. Unless you fancy grinding and dropping onto grass or a sheet of ply.
Yeah that ledge stuff looks really sick.
There he is, good ol’ six fingers
Wow
Thank you man. Justin ![]()
Couldn’t find an ‘Old skateparks..’ thread so putting this here, some wholesome content from the site of Stamford Park, Altrincham’s 1970s skate park

Couldn’t find any 70s footage from the park but here’s a screenshot from the Lost & Found group on FB
Was just in the pub with various heads from that spread last week
Is this the one that @treebeard on insta visited at the weekend with the academics?
Yeah, he’s also shared these photos of the trip - looking forward to the book he’s doing with Iain
Also…
I’ve named this beaver George and he can be found at Stockport hat works museum in Wellington Mill, site of the former Stockport Arena skate park.
Only had a quick glance but this one looks really good
It’s sort of half a skatepark - the street half. Blocks, quarters, flat banks, but nothing you could ride by pumping - no bowl or mini or even two quarters facing each other. But maybe that’s what a lot of people want.
I’d rather have a replica of a Cali schoolyard with a couple of bits in than the usual four leaf clover bowl squeezed into 100m2 bollocks you get
Is the tarmac getting concreted over, or will it stay as that (presumably) really rough ground?
Shame the bench isn’t closer to the bank, could have had a U.K. version of Lockwood.
