Nike SB - QuickStrike

This was very helpful.

Watched in one go. Antonio Durao is rad.

Janoski switch flip crook was perfect wish there was more.

Daan ender at Milan was a joke.

Joe Campos never heard of him but rad.

Don’t have names so I can’t compute or remember all the faces.

Absolutely. I am a sucker for a good straight fakie ollie/flip though.

Don’t worry pal, I’m pretty sure he’s gonna film a switch flip or a switch crooks in 2027.

Sick skating for sure but… this video felt so soulless.

Same :+1::+1:

Really don’t understand why people are judging it as a skate film - its not nor did it try to be. its just a compilation of all their best guys’ footage over the last 6 - 12 months - i don’t understand the pushback tbh i really enjoyed it

  • Dan Van Der Linden skating like the rent is due.
  • Antionio Durao with the best nollie flip ever (since Caleb Barnett in that hockey Vid)
  • Got a soft spot for Sarah Muerle so hyped on her footage.
  • Kevin Bradley showing SLAP warlocks he’s not a pissdrunk and that he’s very much still got it
  • Significant footage of the greatest skater of his generation IMO - Grant Taylor.

Because skate videos have been a huge part of the skate culture for over 3 decades?

thats true but perhaps its time to modify how you judge skate media given the internet, no more physical media? I think its very for the time.

Yeah that’s true. It’s not a great skate video by the standards of the past, but its good to have all that footage released in the same place at the same time for archival purposes or whatever you wanna call it.

Otherwise it would be distributed piece by piece across multiple social media accounts never to be seen together.

exactly, i vividly remember Jason hernandez who directed a Few Nike full lengths say that Nike wasnt interested in doing that sort of thing anymore so i guess im primed to not expect full lengths from anyone because nobody has the attention span and they’re expensive and as you mention, will ultimately just get buried and forgotten on instagram. It felt like a compilation video some kids has uploaded onto youtube of his fav skaters clips - and i like that.

Whilst I get the point - and haven’t complained about the (lack of?) edit - I’d hesitate describing it as a compilation of all their best guys’ footage over the last 6 - 12 months.

(It was filmed in 10 months).

But also, compilation to me suggests that it has all been put out already in various forms or that its an assortment of random clips their dudes have gotten. It isn’t. It is a project shot, built up and put together by three people. They shot it on trips specifically for this.
For that reason, I don’t think ā€˜compilation’ works. It was a considered project.

That’s exactly the kind of thing this forum is for

Not really, no.
ā€œits just a compilation of all their best guys’ footageā€ kind of takes away from the effort put in by team both in front of and behind the camera.
They didn’t just happen upon this. Folk like Will, Ant, Daan, Deedz, Eetu, etc. all worked hard to make this happen and build more complete pictures of where some of the crew are at right now.

A considered project from Nike historically come with:-
A trailer some months before
Ad campaigns in freeskatemag/thrasher etc
a premiere at a cinema on or near rodeo drive
A blazer colorway to commemorate the release

There was none of this? (genuine question). so naturally i dont think its valuable to judge it through the same lens. It was more rough cut then feature length in my opinion.

Just to be clear I thoroughly enjoyed the video - all my fav skaters ride for Nike calling it a compilation was not an effort to diminish at all.
