You think he was meaning Supreme when he said Nike?
I always get him and Craig Stecyk mixed up for some reason
I love old grumpy guys like that! The legend that is Rob Essex always entertains me with his hardcore steep transition rants and general antagonistic stance on everything.
Theyâre both the same. Clearly people who did retrospectively very important things culturally but both absolute self-fellating tits who canât stop telling you how big their contribution is.
Wonât be watching this - to quote Friedman - âfuck youâ.
Dr Edgy
There was a Supreme dis in there. He mentions Beatrice (Domond) in connection with something he finds distasteful and then a little later at (1:11:18) - he doesnât name them but says that he fell out with Gonz over Mark âcoming to his house wearing some of their shitâ.
Iâm guessing that it must be pretty difficult for an old man to successfully yell at clouds with his head jammed that far up his up his arse but he does a good job of it.
Despite all of itâs shortcomings I still found myself enjoying it for the most part.
While he probably rates Jay Adams and Duane Peters.
Absolutely. He has to mention Jay every couple of minutes. Itâs almost like a tic.
Also, when recounting the making of Suicidal Tendencies âPossessed to Skateâ video, he seems stoked on the fact Gator was in there. So there you go.
Him and Crob in the same room sounds awful!
Somehow Iâve avoided any of this intel re. his character, and am actually a bit gutted. A lot of his photos are genuinely iconic.
I enjoyed that interview. He took most of my favourite photos and I respect his stance on commercialism. Itâs similar to Adam Yauch from the Beastie Boys requesting that his music is never used for advertising. Theyâre just coming from a different time and perspective I guess.
Iâve always disliked âSteezus Christâ and never understood what he contributes to skateboarding. He isnât good at skating, seems to have minimal knowledge of anything outside the LA bubble, isnât funny and the as GH says, the whole âpositive vibes onlyâ thing is just a front because he doesnât want people calling him out for being a kook.
Kelly, Jeron⌠finally we can reveal the real reason we had to let Eldy and Steezus go. Meet your new co-host.
Eldy pushing the boundaries of idiocy with his post Nine Club Experience solo project . No spoilers though. It has to be seen to be believed (or not if youâd like to keep your IQ intact). I watched this last night and both my wife and I were reeling from how bad it is. This morning, however, I sat through it again and it had me cracking up. Too many quotes to mention. Itâs kind of like a parody, but unfortunately for Eldy it isnât.
From Slap, obviously:
âHonestly watching Justin Eldridge explain and eat a toasted tortilla wrap has equal appeal to watching the Nine Club.â
Find something better to do with your time than worrying about these dorks.
This is so funny. Steezus defo loves the smell his own farts and he would suck himself off if he could. Complete sausage.
I think he wants to get into the self help game and charge people to sit and listen to his drivel.
So the experience is done? Was the donation money just not making it worth it anymore? As they watched any popularity draining away in real time. Or did they just get sick of the sight of each other?
Crob needs to be worried with all the better podcasts about now and no doubt more coming. From what I remember when I used to watch it - his winging it with no research, hoping the guest has enough personality to carry two hours of chat often falls flat on its face. His lack of skate knowledge is just embarrassing too. To the point where it looks like heâs never read a skate mag or watched a video in his life. He is literally part of Crailtap.
The first Eldy pod was terrible. Just wanted the second episode out of morbid curiosity and itâs actually not that bad! I was pleasantly surprised.
