Not Stoked.

We are definitely going through a bit of a spike at the moment. Although the government and media seemed to have ceased caring.

Anyone who’s had Covid, how long did symptoms last? I’m on day 12 of symptoms - I’m over the worst, most symptoms have gone now - but I’ve still got a persistent cough and don’t feel anywhere near 100% energy.

I feel like a sickly Victorian child with this cough

It was 2 weeks for me. But still felt weak for a while after.

About a week but didn’t feel right for a hot minute.

My boss is leaving. He’s pretty much the only reason I stay at this place and he makes it bearable. Don’t think I’ve ever been this gutted about what someone at work has done. And I can see a tsunami of shite headed my way as I cover for a lot of his stuff. Garrggggghhhhhh

Im on 16 months now. Things are getting better at a grindingly slow pace.

Payrise and promotion for you though maybe?

Unfortunately his role is dealing with the nutters in charge and he has always filtered it so I don’t have to deal with it. Now I’m the filter! They’d have to double my wages for me to want to do it. Might be time to move on as well

Sorry to hear this, dude. This sounds gnarly.

Sorry to hear that. Are you getting some long term support? My mate is on 9 months now and goes to regular group sessions with other people with long Covid and also gets counselling, exercise and diet advice etc to manage his symptoms

That’s my fear tbh. I’ve already got a chronic health issue, last thing I need is another one. I think I’ll be fine, I just need to reframe my thinking that I’ll be recovered it in a week. With 3 jabs I thought it’d be really mild and that’s not been the case.

Hope you recovery fully dude - fatigue is a long game. Long Covid is no joke.

FB Post: Just got out of hospital, so shite… don’t want to talk about it!

Been back in hospital all afternoon getting a Endoscopy. Positives - a clear covid test! The rest was shite, hot as fuck day, stuffy rooms and a massive camera down my throat to rummage around my lowers. Back on Monday for more tests.

Stoked to be out now and enjoying the weather.

I had 3 vaccinations but still caught it. I had mild symptoms for a week or so - a bit like a cold - but I tested positive for about 3 weeks. My wife and youngest daughter had quite bad symptoms for a couple of weeks.

I think I had symptoms for 12 days then mild symptoms for 2 or 3 days. Felt a bit weak during the following weeks. That was before any vaccines existed.

Same here, I’ve got 3 jabs and this is the first time I’ve caught it. My wife and son had it 3 months ago but I somehow avoided it.

So far I’m having shivers and high temperature, body aches, buckets of phlegm, headaches and the need to piss every 30 mins or so… but I am drinking a fair amount due to being a mouthbreather thanks to my blocked nostrils.

Sounds like mine, except I had a horrible cough but no headaches. Plus I completely lost my appetite (but kept my sense of taste) and weirdly got ulcers on my gums as well - most likely from my immune system saying fuck it

I have this too. It’s only been two days, but I feel like eating now and again and manage to get a little bit down.
@Bish would be proud of me, I managed to eat some beans on toast this lunchtime.

Office “Lunch Club” (reward for exceeding target) has been cancelled due to Covid. New guy came in with a stinking cough/cold last week. Fuck knows why he came in - all the 'Rona symptoms. Now 4 other staff have it! Was really looking forward to the Tasting Menu at Purnell’s. Bosses say it will be rescheduled, but I can see it being kicked into the long grass.

Damn, that sucks. Why the fuck did he come in to work!? I’m guessing that he felt the need to impress/prove himself? Hopefully you’ll get it rescheduled soon.

Last Wednesday evening I tested positive, but had no symptoms during the day. I felt so bad for coming in to work and messaged everyone on our WhatsApp group. Everyone was sound about it, and couldn’t really believe I’d tested positive.

On a similar tangent, it really annoys me that staff are rewarded for not having sick days/taking minimal days off. We’re all human and it places a certain amount of shame on people for taking days off… it doesn’t take away from the good work that people do.

Apologies for the repetition and I expect no responses, just need to say this out loud so to speak.

I HATE my fucking job.
