The Cats do look nice though:
Cheaper in Clarks probably
Wallabies are fucking awesome until they inevitably turn into pitta breads after a couple months. So comfy though.
And these ones with the sole that won’t melt looks pretty sick as well
You’ve reminded me to check on my Wallabees that I’ve not worn since pre-covid. Thoughts and prayers.
I’ve had mine over a year and have been worn well over a couple of months , seem to be still fine and look as they are .
You got hobbit feet ?
Fucks sake I said that Clark’s thing as a joke but I forgot you’re all dads
Pretty sure it was Wu-Tang and Menace that got me into Wallabees, because I never really cared when the Beastie Boys were wearing them.
Nice, turns out I was cool by accident
Ghostface often refers to himself as the wally champ
I remember when they were called pasties.
I got my first pair of Wallabees in ‘81/‘82. My Dad took me shopping for school shoes. I was stoked on them in the shop and he was surprised I was into them but stoked that I was stoked. When I got back to school I had the piss taken something rotten for wearing them. I didn’t give a fuck. All those kooks in their Clarks Commandos didn’t have a clue what was up.
I got back into them when the Acid House thing was kicking off. Then a few years later when Ghost and Wulabees hit, off I went to Clark’s again. They’ve been a wardrobe staple ever since.
True they look bad on the website but great on the vid.
I just don’t like the ankle tweak looking sole on the wallabees, The cats sort that out a treat.
I have been on and off keeping an eye out on Mephisto rainbows since Jimo posted some. Bought some and they were 2+ sizes too big. Scared of guessing to buy a 6 to fit an 8. And they feel quite tall. Although, I did see an amazing jazz drummer wearing them the other week and he was feeling everything through them so, maybe the height is something I could get used to.
Mephisto are worth the money they’re great. I am not a big smart shoe wearer but those are kind of midway between shoes and trainers, a bit like Wallabees.
My smart shoes are basically just Wallabees too
Got a couple of pairs of Desert boots for work and got some chelsea boots as well. Proper midlife Clarks Dad
Just realised I’m not in the shoe thread
That’s the problem and will always happen with those floppy soles, even more so if you dare to wear them in the rain. I like the look of them too but haven’t owned any in years.
