Nope, I like his skating. Granted his skating definitely took a hit in last 4 years or so but as the video explained he was going through some shit. He looked good on a board in those clips.
All the tricks he does over the benches at that Triangle spot are so sick.

Might be true, but that doesn’t change the minging tricks I’ve seen from him. Going from poor to acceptable doesn’t really excite me but it’s each to his own.
So he was better before? Don’t really get your point there.

Yes. I know every SP defender always points to it but his Caviar part and stuff in older Flipmode/Bronze stuff was sick and I liked his old Palace intro part
Everything he put out later had some good stuff but also a lot of sketchy filler that I can see why people didn’t like
But yeah I like his skating, skates interesting spots and has some character to his style and skating that a lot of people are really lacking.

He’s done some sick stuff in the past and hopefully him going sober/ focusing on skating will produce stuff on par with his older footage

Only sick thing I can think of is the kickflip over the box and a corner rail. Everything else he looks like he’s got 3 times more gravity than anyone else pushing on him.
Slightly off topic, Do you think that is why Brazillian skaters are so good, the fact that everything is slightly lighter nearer the equator.

As I said before Caviar part is really good
Think his output has been patchy yeah but think even more recent parts have had some sick stuff but as said he does get bogged down with some sketch filler.
All his trick over the green benches are amazing and that nollie varial flip in this new Thrasher clip is perfect
I will say push up technique is appalling however

Seems like he was going through a gnarly drug/ alcohol addiction for a long period of time, probably for most his Palace footage

Nah, Don’t reckon Haven. That does depend on what today’s “sick” is. I find alot of the trendier skaters/companies nowadays lack a decent amount of sick but replace it with hype. Consumerism today points towards hype more than sick so, who knows how well he could do. I’d actually bet against my opinion if you were to ask if he put out something that was successful as opposed to sick.

Sounds like you’re just desperate for him to come good with precious little evidence to say he has ‘potential’.
Shawn Powers has always been abysmal by any sponsored/am standard. I can only guess that Palace have stuck with him because they realised that as bad as he is, whenever footage of his comes out, people talk about it/him/Palace and so his “job” (to raise Palace’s profile) is done. Awful stinker though.

As always with Shawn powers I always say the same thing.
He’s a slightly above average regular skater who was maybe unfairly put in the spotlight by a company putting his name on a a board. He is easily the worst pro skater ever and he seems like an absolute cunt to go along with his bang averageness.
I hope he sorts himself out and people stop putting a camera on him and promoting his existence because we just don’t need to know about any of it.
