It was a sick park. That massive vert wall with the windows in was fun and scary

Loved total 90s as a kid so actually stoked on this, I also play football weekly so would kill for those boots but bet they’re gonna be a fucking bomb haha

Looks like Lev and Gareth have the actual Vicky benches in there, along with the OG Southbank to wall replica. Got an invite to the opening but can’t make it sadly. Fucking power moves.

I’m sure at the end of Lucien’s Vicky Bench Quartersnacks feature he mentioned Lev somehow acquired them (think he bought them). I’m sure @PiledriverWaltz might be able to confirm if I’m right.

The collapsible football pitch is pretty extra. Would prefer it if those pillars weren’t in the way!

How big is Palace these days, financially speaking?

Right now I can’t think of any other skate companies doing projects like this besides the dime glory challenge and that’s really just a brilliant but elaborate best trick comp.

I recon they must of got Nike to stump up for this. Price of credibility, etc. That said, looks like they netted £18m this year according to companies house. Objectively that’s a big for skateboarding but I thought they’d be making more.

Think about what they must have made during their peak! Hopefully they’ve all invested wisely etc. And maybe that’s what buying the building is about - an investment for the future. Lev and Gareth on their way to becoming property tycoons.

Saw they were also offering 9 month residencies for creative types to be based in the building, so they’re obviously thinking about alternative uses.

Economy is in a slump these days. Cost of living is too high to justify £85 hoodies so if their earnings are down it makes sense. They still do cool stuff though.

I’m still stoked to see how far lev, gareth, stu took things when I remember them all sitting on the wall at Southbank just dreaming.

Prior to doing that Lucien piece I’d heard for a while that they’d been salvaged so I was stoked to get Lucien to put it on record. Even more stoked to see them resurface now.

Someone got in contact with me after the Lucien thing came out so I’ve got most of the inns-and-outs of how they got saved. But that’s (for) a different story

Yeah, while I’m way past the point of wearing any Palace myself anymore, I think it’s amazing what they’ve done. I remember when the did the Ralph Lauren collab thinking they’d really levelled up. I grew up skating Norwich with Chewy so always been hyped to see them killing it.

palace is pretty shit and has been for a long long time

but even i can admit this is fucking sick. maybe the best thing they’ve ever done since the first inside out tri-ferg tees dropped

great way to get the kids outside and touching grass per say. and i love that’s free entry too, props to them

Someone mentioned sean goff on palace for jokes. Made me think what the palace team would have looked like if they launched in 1995.

Clive Daly had to be on the team.

Palace x World Industries collab?

As someone who was in my early teens in the early noughties I have to admit this is hitting me nostalgia wise!

Same, but I have to remind myself that I wouldn’t be caught dead buying or wearing any stuff that was solely World Industries nowadays. I am nearly 40, and the company has sucked for a long time. Not sure a Palace collab changes that.

I will say looking at the graphics they do look like they were done by Mark McKee (that’s how did them right?) rather than the bastardised versions that whoever has owned them for the last few years did. I’m sure I read something that Rocco/Sidewalk Dist have got some deal to do some World capsules so assuming this could be with them involved.

It’s less about what the company became for me and more so can I bring myself to wear something with those characters on at nearly 40… (Tempted by the devil tee though)
