Willing to bet I’m not the only person who has no clue about what Enjoi are doing these days but has heard of Powers via Palace or people’s opinions on his person or skating

In all honesty, through sidewalk forums old and new, that’s probably my initial exposure to Shaun Powers.
I still only really see him discussed here. I don’t check släp or anything.
It wouldn’t bother me if he never appeared on my radar.
Aware of him or not, there’s no great desire to actively check him out.

I even suggested power bombing him through a block, but this thread has made me read he had a problem and is actively looking to get over it, il support any man looking to turn it around. No matter their Kickflip
I’m off to NYC in a couple weeks and I’m gonna find Powers and ask him why he blocked me on insta like he asks that dude in the clip. I thought we were homies Shawn.

Sean Powers art actually elicits much more of an emotional reaction than that toss gravely wanked out shapes Nick Jensen paints. Skates with good style too

Which ones?
I went to a Jensen art show a few years ago.
Two things stood out - firstly, the size of the paintings he was showing. The photos showed these incredibly detailed pieces and then when you got to see them in front of you, and realise they are on 6”x6” canvas, then it made the detail all the more impressive.
Secondly, I don’t think there were any skate heads there. That said a lot.

That’s rad. If he thought he had to rely on the skate connection it’d have been in the mag or on the forum. Would have been easy to fill the room with that.
I skated past Jensen in Hoxton a couple years ago and barely recognised him because he was carrying this massive plant. About 3 months later these boards came out featuring said plant.

Blue/gold dress hehe. Everyone interprets things differently. Powers art is pretty crap overall but here I see something kinda dumb and funny and it’s ok, and then I see Jensen’s and I think it’s the most dull grandad stuff ever. And I really like a lot of contemporary painting too. That photo of his work above says nowt. Just because something is skilled or detailed doesn’t make it good art.
