hearing their Top Boy love just killed me, hahaha

not heard of the guy before, but some nice takes on the links between comedy and skating

This isn’t a podcast but is an interesting talk by Rupert Sheldrake (father or Merlin - Entangled Life) about Morphic Resonance. The concept is one that seems to ring true when it comes to progression in our chosen field as well as illustrating the connected nature of everything.
He has some really radical, revolutionary and profound propositions and I think anyone interested in conciseness, memory and ultimately existence will find his theories intriguing.

Would love to hear your thoughts. Enjoy x

In total contrast to this week’s Nine Club guest, Hawk vs Wolf has Lance as theirs. You can’t go wrong with Lance. This had me smiling until my face hurt.

Wig Worland on We Look Sideways

his ideas on skateboarding are a treat

Just listened to this and it was great . Stuff that I’ve not heard before but probably because it’s stuff tiny reminds Rodney of.

I listened to that yesterday and really enjoyed it, this suggested clip came up on YouTube soon after:

I’ve not seen that film and that probably won’t change but I love that it has those blatant Mullen moves in there!

Anon and rye gray on the skate creative taking about videos.
I could quite happily listen to a spin off skate creative podcast in this format with the same hosts with a different uk skate video focused theme for each episode.
Do it Ben.

Joel’s quite a good interviewer as he’s softly spoken and pretty relaxed in his approach. A lot of the episodes are catch ups and there’s a really genuine feeling of listening to two old friends catching up and putting the world to rights (about skateboarding).
Maybe because it’s British, I dunno, but there’s something pleasant and calming about listening to them, as opposed to American podcasts (of any genre) where the hosts always seem to be screaming or laughing like hyena’s into the mic

Someone made a video about the laughing….

(I ended up laughing along whilst watching)

Thanks man - glad you enjoyed it.
I was pranging about the swearing to be honest but :man_shrugging:t2:.

As re your question - I dunno if the comedy would wear off if we did it regularly but I am a big fan of the podcast format and like being asked to do them.

Joel did kind of ask about us maybe doing another one so who knows

That’s pretty frightening.

Comedy aspect aside it’s just nice listening to people talk about the ins and outs and asides of videos and uk scenes. You and rye might be the most video knowledgable for uk stuff.
Who Else has the encyclopaedia brain?
Never met him but I bet joe having has some pretty extensive video history knowledge

Good shout build. Who does that account?

I’ve asked a couple of people and they’ve all denied that it’s them.
Whoever it is is very deep in 80s/90s UK skating though and doing a great job

Joe Gavin?
