Podcasts worth listening to

New podcast setup by my mate, Ben Jones. It’s going to be focused on filmers, what’s influenced them, opinions and all that good stuff. The first one to drop is with Al Hodgson and is a pretty good listen (and watch, as there’s a video element to this as well):

I’ve filmed one with Ben some time ago, so hoping that’ll go up soon. You’ll get to see what tea I would’ve been drinking and hear how much I loathe and like the VX1 at the same time. Marvelous. Morph and Jude are due ones at some point as well.

Excellent episode of Beyond Boards with lurker, Skate Nottingham activist, Skateboard GB head and crookie monster Chris Lawton.

P.s. thank you for all the lovely things you said about Sidewalk and me personally x

Finally back in a job where I can work and listen to podcasts again. Most of my favourites are pretty niche, but think a fair few people might like this one!

Love the skate creative podcast, but there are definitely moments where you just want Joel to let his guest talk a bit more. Both in terms of his input as a host and the length of episodes.

Hearing him struggle to form a half question is hilarious. It is exactly how I would be if I tried to do a podcast.

Me too. Hence why I’m not too put off by it.

I also think the length issue is partly to do with these interviews being with less extrovert Britons than the American skaters we’re used to hearing on the Nine Club etc. No (excluding maybe Blackwell) British skater is full of themselves enough to talk for 3-4 hours straight about their career al la Jamie Thomas and Mike V!

Yeah, I had to sack off the Vallely episode as it was so fucking check me out and chill. Unrelentingly so.

Anyone know if this Wig issues is going to be available anywhere in the UK?

Spoke to Nick recently and it’ll be arriving with Palomino pretty soon.

Been watching these on YT for some time now - particularly enjoyed the Aroe and Eine ones.

The guests are variable in quality. There was one guy that was so bad as an interviewee that the episode was pretty entertaining. He was a North London writer, (his name escapes me right now), way back and is still getting up. Dude was so fried and was babbling about an MK Ultra style government project based in Edgware(iirc) back in the late 70’s: early 80’s where the local populace was being blasted with radio/microwaves in order to turn them into zombies. Kela couldn’t make head not tail of his ramblings…

No, I just had a look and it was Sine One. It wasn’t Edgware but the Holloway Road area which was, according to him, where the ‘Gridlock’ mind control thing went down (chuckle, dons foil hat). Watch out for those paint fumes kids!

Anyone willing enough to subject themselves to this for the rest of our enjoyment?

This the first time I’ve been made aware of “Sk8wine” and I wish hadn’t been. What a sad little beg
