Definitely Powell videos. Think it’s from Ban This.
The skate tool bit looks okay. I’d recommend this one though.
Flat skate tools are always dogshit. The best ever in my opinion was the icon flex tool as it had a hinge on the truck bolt bit to get around the hangers.
Gotta disagree with you there. The only down side to the Leatherman one is how small it is. Bit fiddley but takes up no space. Still have the Reflex mother-of-all-skate-tools at home for axle re-threading etc.
Also, some newer trucks have updated themselves to fit proper sockets again these days, instead of only being able to use a spanner.
The reflex bad boy is king, but not as portable.
I once saw a kid ‘pass’ his reflex tool to another. It exploded his lip and he had to go to get it stitched up.
Guns for show, knives for a pro… etc etc.
so many people are going to be fucked even with this furlough scheme, I had 2 part time jobs which totalled up to full time hours. One which has disappeared was working as a chef through an agency, I emailed the agency seeing what the deal was with getting some pay at the moment and it seems the government guidelines for temp workers only applies if they work over 35hours a week and have worked in the same place for the last 12 weeks, which kind of rules out anyone with that kind of job as it tends to be the odd week here and there at places.
Luckily my other job still pays during all this and I can survive on it.
turns out thats not the government guidelines, it’s the agency, what a bunch of wankers.
That’s the thing, The government aside from their monumental fuckups they have said that they will cover everyone, it’s middlemen that are making it hard, as far as I can tell, although it’s still not clear to everyone. My Builder mate thinks he is not entitled to anything but i’m sure that you can furlough yourself if you are self employed with no premises.
I got 10k in the bank this morning but our business is fairly standard self employed with premises.
They won’t cover everyone. I work in the tv/film industry and they insisted years ago that if you’re not a LTD company the production company has to put you on short contract / daily PAYE . So we can’t get furloughed. Even if some of us are self employed (sole trader) in between jobs and over 3 years, some of us have only made £5-10k profit of private jobs. The sector is screwed along with people in events doing the same type of PAYE contracts .
I’ve signed on, applied for grants etc .
Best I’ve got from my daily 5 hour job hunt and applying is an interview to service and clean ambulances for £9 p/hour .
Oh man, that’s shite, soz. So there are some bigger holes than they think then. I guess it’s really hard to do a generic cover all for something so diverse.
Cheers man, it’s one of those . I’m use to the time off between jobs but this is now starting to get the ol bum twitching.
Fingers crossed that at least something pops up to at least fill the gap.
Might not be of much help but are you part of a union. I work in telecommunications and our site used to be BBC years ago and historicaly they have been part of Bectu. Which covers tv/radio/film etc. Don’t know if it’s worth getting in touch with them or similar.
Bectu and all the freelance groups have been hammering PACT and the HMRC to very little success. I’ve had to open my Facebook account as that’s where most of the groups are discussing what to do. For the last three weeks it’s like a game of pointless ping pong.
PACT saying one thing HMRC saying another, then both saying the same.
Basically if your contract came to a natural end by the 19th march you can’t be furloughed.
Some production companies can rehire you and stick you on furlough but unfortunately it’s at their call and most aren’t doing it probably because of the mountain of paperwork with the hundreds of crew whilst they them selves are running on basic staff/admin or have closed.
It’s a fucking mess.
Best place to buy plain white t shirts online? Are fruit of the loom any good? Theres some on Amazon but they look a bit short.

My son found a rather large dead rat in the back garden.
It never occurred to me how you dispose of such a thing.
Carrier bag in the bin, hell no, that’s going to stink.
Had to find somewhere I could dig a decent enough hole to bury it.
A cat died once at the bottom of our garden (no idea why). Buried it in a 2 foot hole. About 8 months later a fox tried to dig it up! Couldn’t believe it as there mustn’t have been much of it left.
