You can probably just Easy-Fill if its a patch.
In all honesty the old plaster looks like a proper shit job anyway so probably just get it redone. Just fancied a moan about it in the process ha
I’d like to try do that hot wings challenge.
Just did a drive thru covid test after having a weird mucus cough all week alongside mild headache.
Fingers crossed.
Shit, fingers crossed. Ive got a gnarly cold that has literally just turned up the day before yesterday. I can still taste and smell but been hacking up lumps of phlegm. Tried to steam it and move it before I go to hospital later
I have this but it’s not exactly gnarly or runny nose. Just mucus building up that I have to cough into the bog. It’s disgusting. Have a bit of fatigue and aching which makes me think it’s COVID.
Fingers crossed it’s ‘man flu’.
definitely some funky crap going around again since the schools went back. im sure you’re fine. man flu for sho
Yer think one of my business partners has it. Waiting for test to come back but he sounds fucked on the phone.
Negative test.
Stoked.
Dyson died yesterday - not stoked
New dyson came today - very stoked. Shouldn’t be this excited by a new hoover but I just hoovered the living room with the precision as if I was mowing the pitch at Wembley. Patterns and all. How have I become this?!
By living in a vacuum?
Im almost positive its this one. We’ve gone the last 9 months perfectly fine then get a cold immediately before going into labour… felt like shit for a few days and couldnt sleep, now feel better but can’t sleep because of baby rather than lurgy
In the last few weeks I’ve developed a weird fascination with monitoring all the cartel/narco stuff going on in Mexico. I’m not watching assassination videos or anything like that, but I’ve started closely following what’s going on in various regions, learning about the intricacies of the beef between the groups, reading accounts from people living there, learning about the operations each group runs, and how the dynamics have changed over the last few years - for example we’re now seeing a rise of one supreme pan-national paramilitary group, CJNG. The whole thing is so mad and obviously tremendously sad.
I’ve also come to learn of some of the social media handles for various sicarios. I don’t know why I have this morbid curiosity, but it’s so utterly insane to think that these people are going out for ‘work’ shooting and abducting people, and then later on they’re just posing for pics playing PlayStation or football or something. Interestingly, so much of this stuff stays up on Instagram which I guess is because it’s fairly contained within their world so there aren’t many people reporting. But for example, the other day a sicario had a status where he was at like a child’s birthday party or something, and then the next status update was him doing something I’m not even going to write on here as it’s proper liveleak level stuff.
/lockdown hobby.
What’s the deal with them getting into avocados?
Been like that for a while, but it seems to be getting more publicity due to the rise in demand of them.
As you may expect, there’s a short answer and a more complicated one.
The short is that, simply, avocadoes provide a stable reliable income and it can be used for laundering money. This is true also of limes, timber, berries and a whole host of other things which are somewhat lucrative.
The more complicated version is, in my opinion, quite interesting. So, avocadoes are mainly grown in Michoacán region of the country. This is situated quite a bit down away from the US border, however its position is the crucial battleground for rival cartels at the moment. It’s located west of Mexico City and south east of Guadalajara, but in actual terms, almost a straight (albeit long) shot up to the US border. This goes right through the central trafficking route of the country and brings you directly to Ciudad Juarez. Take a look at this and you’ll see what I mean:
Controlling the avocado region doesn’t just mean being able to produce avocadoes, but it’s also a brilliant position for it being (almost) the narrowest part of Mexico - where goods such as ammunition, cocaine, fentanyl, various pre-cursor chemicals, etc. can arrive on both the western Pacific coast and the eastern gulf. As well as that, gasoline pipelines run through this part of Mexico - they tap into this and sell it on.
But there’s a somewhat less prosaic element to the avocado thing which is arguably more important than just locations. So, for the purpose of the map you see above, it was created with info from ~ five years ago when Sinaloa (pink/red areas) were the main guys in charge. Now, CJNG are the cartel who are basically taking the entire country. This is what Mexico is like now (below) - they are the red regions:
They’ve an ISIS style approach - sophisticated training, serious weaponry, big audacious advertisements and propaganda flooding social media and the news. Their propaganda serves in a way of maintaining that they’re protecting the people of Mexico and that they’re fighting the war to clean the country of the cartel wars because the government and the military are incapable of it (which is partly true, but mainly attributed to a whole host of other reasons, but in any case they latch on to that under the guise of being the ‘good guys’). They often claim they don’t attack innocent people and that they don’t terrorise civilians. Total bullshit. In any case, if you’re young, and don’t have any other means of making money, and you see these glamorised action shots of cartel members with massive guns, loads of cash, cars and women, it’s tempting. Somewhat!
So to summarise, it’s a combination of it genuinely being a lucrative industry, but also a highly advantageous geographical territory to locate a well diversified cartel.
This is fucking sick. Will read properly later
Holy shit, that’s just bonkers. Hit us with some documentaries.
I watched a Mexican film 15 years back called Miss Baja, which was all set around the Mexican cartel wars. Pretty good I recall.
I haven’t even read this and dropped it a mega like. It looks like an article in a nice Sunday supplement magazine or something. Looks amazing.
Please keep posting more of this, it’s genuinely fascinating.
