and @anon86856945 I skated twice in March, first one with no warm up and felt the calf DOMs for about 3 days, second one did a bit of active leg stretching after watching that Sebo warm up vid on the Kyle Brown IG, and didn’t feel a thing afterwards. Might well help the comebacks.

looks fucking incredible, any ideas how that came to be built? i’m hammering the council atm as they keep setting the lights wrong at the skatepark but just slipping in ideas on how we can make small but needed improvements to the skatepark/area it’s in
You know when you’re out skating and some clown comes along, giving it the big 'un, saying how they used to skate back in the day? That happened to me the other week, only this time, it was me mouthing off about how to go about filming lines to the local lad at the park. Him and his buddy had just recently got some incarnation of a HVX something (memory card only job) and a decent Opteka fisheye and so I asked could I try filming a line with a friend. On attempt number 3 after the first trick, I somehow ended up with both feet heel to toe/ old school water-ski foot stance and ended up wiping out and sent the camera skidding across the ground. I had that horrible sinking stomach feeling as I was convinced that I’d sandblasted the lens surface with the concrete, but just the bottom of the cam took a bit of damage. The two owners thought all this was hilarious, particularly given my shameful response. Lesson learned! I haven’t filmed skating with a proper camera in about 6 or 7 years and it’s likely to stay that way, haha.

Yeah I know quite a lot about it! The original plans for the park were way better and involved a lot of skateable landscaping. What they ended up with is the watered down version agreed with a community group of young skaters, scooter kids and parents.
Your best bet is to get a skatepark design company on board from the start to help with scoping things out. Even if it’s just improving the existing site they are generally keen to offer support. And don’t let design by committee water down the plans

After clattering their cam off the ground, I told them to never listen to anything I have to say about filming, no matter how right I am.
As an aside, a while back I told a buddy to give one extra push to help land the k-grind he was trying. He did so, and then rolled his ankle badly on the next go, requiring hospital visit the next morning for a hairline fractured ankle…

What do we think of this then?
Good to see Lil Dre and Rachelle Vinberg making some money off of this, but using skateboarding like this always makes these supposedly high-end and aspirational products look really cheap and tacky. The bottle just looks crap.

It’s weird when someone you went on a few dates with three years ago still sends you stuff through the post right (flowers)? For the kids, that they never met as it didn’t get that far!
