There it is. Tell them you want to use your skills to your maximum potential and you’ve noticed you could be imbursed more favourably elsewhere, much as you’d be sorry to leave.

Have done a few times in the past and even asked for a loan to buy a guitar. Always been recieved positively, I think people respect the balls it takes to ask. It certainly shows how much you are valued when you get either answer.

I never have but where I work people that ask for a raise, get one, as far as i can tell. I really should

Cheers boys.

I’ve read somewhere before that in certain sectors you should be making your company 5 times your salary to justify your existence (can’t remember where I read that).

I’ve just done the sums and I’m generating 63.5 times my salary per month at the moment.

Lol.

lol that’s crazy.
I’ve never asked for one before - only really gotten them when moving jobs. No one has really begged me to stay ha.

Anyone tell me what these are called? And how to get them off?

Can’t remember exactly what they are called but they just lock the thread, push the two ends sidewards and it will ping off.

Got the answer: circlip

Spring clips or something.
Wedge a flat screwdriver head into one of those holes and twist so it opens the clip and pops away.

Hole is tiny

Or what CF said.

finger nails either side and push although it does look small. Use some pliers slightly open, flat to the surface and push the two sides

I like having fingernails

Circlips are designed to be removed with special pliers that can be reassembled for internal or external clips. For expediency in the field, a pair of needle-nose pliers (for internal clips) or leverage with a flat-headed screwdriver (internal or external) is sometimes used.

Start looking anyway. Can’t / won’t hurt to do so.
You need to have a list of achievements, initiatives, programs, whatever you’ve done over the past year or so to prove that you’re creating more profit for the company, making yourself valuable and worthwhile to have around. There’s always the “soft” skills or qualities, like dealing well with people, helping others to raise their game, etc., but depending on your boss or employer, generally, you’ll need to show what cool shit you’ve done.
You can also ask for less time for the same pay, better benefits like private healthcare, bike to work, etc.

First day wearing jeans since May. Fuck.

Lol. I don’t think I can claim that one.

I’ve got stats and figures up the ying yang. I’m a bit pissed off they haven’t come to me because what I’ve been doing for them for the last year has been pretty crazy.

I was just wondering how people have approached it before really. I’ll just go to my boss and see what she says.

Annual reviews or sign-off on a big project are generally good times.
