They do.
I bought a blu Ray player years back which came with 5.1 speaker setup + sub.
I’ve rarely used it for playing discs but route the TV through it for the audio.
That’s been its primary use really.
It wasn’t expensive, about £200 or so.
It has lasted years and sounds well still.
gottcha
I had a rad LG stereo/DVD combo thing with a 3 disc changer and 5.1. again I’m sure it was about £200
Someone had lent me a ermmm adult DVD once, and shortly after the disc tray got stuck and wouldn’t open, I had to risk taking the stereo back to the shop, unsure of whether I’d given my mate his DVD back or not…
When I went to pick it back up again after the fix the guy in the front said “The guys are out the back watching one of your DVDs, they haven’t seen one like that before!” I went out the back expecting solid embarrassment… They were watching Flip Sorry.
Better than porn
not sure if this goes here, but the big brother magazine documentary is really good. i saw it as the sean cliver art show at house of vans last night - seems like he just bought it with him as HOV happened to have a screening room but that might be the only showing of it over here. i dont think there is any non-US release planned as it was made by and only available on Hulu channel and they only operate in USA.
i had most of the early issues and a few after it got bought out, but had kind of forgotten how far they pushed things in early 90’s. really nice dose of nostalgia but still relevant now in terms of how its wider cultural influence and some of the bits are super funny.
i went with someone who also loved the mag and 2 other people who dont skate and had never heard of it and they thought it was really good too…
Gutted I missed this. BB mag was amazing bird.
How’d you mean?
Ah I see. I thought you were referring to tonality, thank you for explaining!
Haha, i guess reading that back the use of the phrase ‘really uncomfortable’ was slightly over the top! Me being a pedantic graphic designer.
No, the tone is good out of the articles I’ve read. It’s the first skateboard magazine i’ve bought in a few years and what immediately stood out to me (in a good way) was that the first 3 ads of the magazine are all women skaters. And obviously skateism have done that deliberately, but, it is quite refreshing to see some different faces.
Has anyone heard any news about the proposed renovation of Hackney bumps? I had the place to myself for over an hour yesterday, if it had a few quarters round the outside for speed to hit the moguls, it could be amazing. You have to push a lot at the moment. Really fun though.
saw on the insta they did a jam in july, no posts since then mind you
Nice one Perv. Anyone on here involved in this? I’d be down for helping DIY it if they can’t get funding. I’d chuck in some time for building and money for cement. 3 long concrete quarters round the sides would make this spot so good.
Was a bit sceptical about this but it reads well. Very American though but I guess that’s good in this instance, maybe do more in British English in a variety of styles
‘Righter’ sounds a bit like a tabloid term just now. Hopefully that’ll pass.
(Also those hyphens should be em dashes and exclamation marks only really go at the end of sentences.)
Very true, I missed that but your grammar must be - on… point! mate
The “Hackney Bumps Community” logo is rad… Would buy a tee with that on!
90% sure someone had made a thread for it on the old forum, couldn’t tell you who mind
Does anyone remember ‘Stick-O-Rama’ from early 411s? Who was he?
