Since 3 days ago my home broadband has been dropping off every few minutes.
I have been watching the DSL connection status and see it kind of reset.
This prompted me into changing my ISP router for 1) troubleshooting the router and 2) getting that router out of the way because I was only using it as a modem to passthrough to a preferred router anyway.
There is no strict modem mode in it but some careful configuration can make it that way.
I had been meaning to do this for a while but this problem prompted it.
I have called my ISP each day and they wanted to rule out equipment faults at my end by sending a replacement router.
It arrived today, along with a second one, so I have two brand spanking routers which are the more recent and improved to the one I removed from the network the other day.
They are still not going to be at the modem end of things though.
Thank god for tethering to a mobile, the speed is actually not that bad for internet access.
For network sharing, it is a dog.
I get fibre plumbed in next week. Will make no difference to my speed but am looking forward to digging around a new router’s settings and features
