FWIW I just did my own homework and had a quick look at Curry’s website and most laptops in that price segment are 16gb.
I would assume it’s not an apples for apples comparison, as the 8gb in the mac is built into the CPU, with much faster memory bandwidth and a much better SSD speed at a guess, so would feel fine in lightweight consumer usage of Mac OS.
You’re correct it’s never going to be exactly the same, but I’m easily topping out 16Gb on my Linux laptop and willfully buying a Neo with only 8gb sounds like the worst choice ever
Done a thing and signed up to my workplace’s charity football match at the end of June. Since my son was born 11 months ago I haven’t even been for a jog or to the gym so I reckon I’m going to do myself a real mischief. Stoked for it though, hoping it catches me a bug.
What I do need though is football boots suitable for a 3G pitch and maybe shinpads? But I also need them at a price where if I don’t wear them again it won’t matter!
Ain’t shin pads now just thin bit of 2mm plastic the size of a pack of 10 fags?
Sports direct best bet, yeah Mike Ashley, but there probably ain’t any hipster independent footballer owned shops selling footballer owned shit so fuq it.
Unfortunately not. And I tried to go to the independent in Abbers man but they don’t have like regs boots, just kids elite versions and some of them are like £150 and he might get 2 terms out of pair.
Corps innit. The local we had in town as kids was fucking dope. Always had posters and random bits from Coca Cola and panini to give away. He always had the cool boots in, I hassled him after school every Friday for the Andy Cole boots, then Reebok stopped selling to him as Intersport opened up.
Weird, just found the guy who designed them, went on to work for vans for 23 years.
Very random thought I just had, but when talking about here IRL (is that allowed or is there some sort of Fight Club deal going on…) I still refer to as the Sidewalk Forum. Is it just me?
For 3G pitches you need either Astroturf or AG (Artificial Grass) boots. Personally I like AG’s because they have the hard plastic soleplate like a pair of grass boots do.
Don’t get FG (Firm Ground) as these are too aggressive for 3G pitches - can lead to knee injuries.
I’d recommend going to your local Sports Direct to try some on with your football socks on, as they can be quite narrow. I’ve always gone 1 size up.
You may notice they have 3 different price points for the same boot. It’s basically a Good, Better, Best system - the more expensive you go the better materials are used.
Prices start at about £50 for a basic pair and go up to £250+ for the professional ones.
