Yeah, I do that with cassettes for the car these days a bit round Thanet but finding stuff I seriously want in chazzas etc just rarely happens. I love Discogs very much. There is so much cheap stuff on there as well as rarer stuff. I put everything I’ve ever bought on there over the last 22 years or so in the collection thing on there and was shocked at the value. I think I actually spent about 14k on them over that time but I do alot of buying elsewhere. This is the only way to get any of it insured without a specialist policy

I went and ordered a new bed and mattress today. First time ever going to a bed shop as opposed to just ordering whatever off the internet.
The whole process was so bizarre. From the analysis machine that matches you to a mattress then you are led to a wall of a pillows to choose to carry around with you as a prop as you sample mattress after mattress. Every customer has one. Fucking odd.
To you lying on the mattress for a period of time while the salesman talks you through the science of mattresses stood next to you as if it’s totally normal.

Did this and found it oddly calming. However the reality is I have a 3 year old who won’t fuck off to her own bed and dreams of being stuck in the trash compactor in Star Wars or a UFC championship.

Quality mattress is best investment you’ll ever make! Spent close to 1k on ours and it was fucking amazing, best sleep on it ever!

100% however am replacing a Simba mattress that capitulated after 8 months. Fucking shite.
We did the exact same shit last weekend. Got a baby sitter in for the morning, had brunch and went bed/mattress shopping. Proper middle age. Like @Mark, about to drop a G on the new one. Seems ridiculous but when you weigh up how important a good nights sleep is, it’s actually pretty logical.

Our mattress is a highend ikea one and it’s held up well. I’d really like to change it but it weighs an absolute tonne!

Paid £500 for ours a couple of years ago after the best part of 20 years on the previous one. We do need a new bed frame though as that is fucked. We’ll get around to it…
