I know I had this but can’t remember what it was like except a vague memory of dissapointment, was it a sort of 720 rip off? I also had Jet Ski simulator which was also a Codies game and was actually good.

I honestly can’t remember. Me and my brother were big codemasters fans, yep Jet Bike Simulator was rad, nice physics, also BMX Simulator

Skateboard Simulator looks like utter gash

Amazing! Might have a go later

Lazer Force was a fairly decent vertical scrolling shmup. One of their (David and Richard Darling iirc*) first games IIRC.

  • Codemasters I think they founded. But I’m getting old.

My sister saw Jake Johnson skate at the weekend. A new skatepark opened near her flat in Penn State, that he helped design with his dad. Turns out she know his dad via her work at the museum and the university.

I had to explain to her how good his Mindfield part was.

I’d like to hear more about her reaction please.

I think this is John Fabriquer. Don’t ask me how

Either him or Micke Alba

Mainly that he was a ‘tall guy jumping on the big bench and then going in circles’ ha.

It was only when the local news had taken a photo/video with him and his dad, that she realised. They then just sat at the side when all the kids took over because it had got busy, and the other event started. After her telling me that and describing them, I thought it was maybe the quasi team there too.

I ramble on a bit about spots/tricks etc to her, but I don’t think she gets how rad it would be to see Jake Johnson (or any pro) skate.

She used to stay in Boston, so would see folk skate Eggs and Copley.

Watching that tonight purely because of this reminder. Might watch the whole thing actually.

My search for the perfect pub jacket has turned up this. It’s not perfect, the collars are pretty massive and its defo a 90s / early 2000s fit but it’s a new old stock Dope clothing jacket at £15! Not saying its the greatest quality but thought i’d stick it here, the guy seems to have a few of them. If I owned a shop I’d be right on these.

Posting here to not hijack MJ thread.

My rumour is that Phelps said he blacklisted Guy from winning SoTy because somewhere during the late 90s Guy said he didn’t care for thrasher.

I remember Guy having TWS covers, so yeah. That is the reason I’ve heard that Penny never got it as he was/or was seen to be a TWS guy too.

No it was more that Jake didn’t want recovery/redemption stories to be part of the reason people got SOTY. He wanted it to be purely about skating. I understand that but I also thought Guy deserved it on the strength of the skating alone too.

Only reason Tom didn’t get it is that he didn’t care and SOTY wasn’t so much of a thing when he did his murderation period in Cali
