That sounds sick! I always say I’m going to do the Boxing Day dip back home but it gets to waking up and I’m like fuuuuuck that! Love cold water shocks though, sounds mad but having cold showers and getting into controlling my breathing in cold showers has really helped my mental health, have one every morning and it helps me feel more grounded in my body and instant surroundings instead of lost in my head.
I’m doing this next week.
You see I wanted it to be all those things and I thought it would be cold and invigorating and great. I just hated every second of it.
And I went in twice.
I turned off all notifications for insta and facebook, that was a gamechanger, so much less distracting now.
although obvs a bit more distracting than deleting completely

Disabled Facebook a while ago and just about to do the same with insta. I do enough lurking here nowadays

I disabled FB and swapped the app on my phone for a shortcut to a webpage / counter telling me how many days it’s been - 77 so far… this time.
I still like Insta though. There’s a nice community of skaters inspiring / encouraging / egging each other on regardless of ability.

I got a few group chats on WhatsApp that get pretty hectic sometimes 300 posts a day depending on how much people are insulting each other

Back when I worked in Geneva I used to go to that spa by the lake near my workplace once a week. I’d always stay in the sauna as long as I could, then I’d swim in the lake for a minute. It was pretty gnarly (air temperature close to 0 degrees, water temperature 2 or 3 degrees, shit like that… the wind made it all even more brutal some days) but I always felt immortal when I got out of the water. Loved that feeling.
It was cold here today and I was hungover but I went out for a quick skate and it was awesome. My leg feels alright. Yesyesyes.

@anon83623327 Just be careful when you set up that private account. I don’t know too much about it, but I remember Leo Sharp telling me that IG can use your Apple ID or whatever to alert people that you’ve set up a new account, so even if you use a different email address, it’ll still alert people to your new account. I’m sure more computer literate could explain it better.
I’ve had all notifications switched off for a while, which is refreshing. Can’t bring myself to delete Insta, as I feel isolated enough down here in Cornwall!!
