Hidden lace loops never look good on shoes. Also black colourway, the fake leather really does look like fake leather.
Those Lakais are fucking horrendous. How the fuck are they still going.
However put a swoosh on those and I’ll probably buy 10 pairs

I read somewhere on Slap about the whole re-issue Accel having a stubbier toe, thinner tongue and dare I say a slightly different shape altogether. I think it changed after 2004 or so?
I do have two pairs from at least around then or shortly after in the box, so I thought I’d pull them out. It’s definitely changed and the newer ones are beefy boys in comparison.
I can see that’s the case for these re-issues, too.

I’ve read those Slap posts as well, pretty funny when you see someone put ‘these are bigger than I remember’ as if Sole Tech haven’t made any changes to reissues.

I did DM Don to see if they’re looking at trying to sort it out and have the OG shape back. It’s understandable tooling and moulds might be an issue, in which he mentioned that is the case and they are hoping to sort down the line.
But I do feel like it kinda fits to the whole ‘we want de puff back’ crowd, so the former may not happen.
I can skate them fine but I do prefer the OG shape, that’s for sure.

Anyone have a pair from both eras? I’m curious to see the difference, all my pairs pre hiatus have been long destroyed only have some from 2014 on
I have a pair - I think they’re from the late 00’s. They’re fuck all like the originals from the late ‘90s
There was a post on Slap a while ago which compared the two, it’d take ages to trawl back or search to find it though.
These are mine. They arrived god knows when, I laughed at them and they went in the cupboard, where they stay.
