Used to love half cabs and nearly got some new ones other week but have had lots of issues with recent vans being bad quality. Couldn’t skate a shoe that was two toned though and usually only skate them if they’re block tones or colours. Sadly that’s why I find it so hard to skate adidas as all the dope shoes seem to have about 4 different colours on em at the moment.

A different coloured tongue can fuck a shoe right up too, even without two tone uppers.
Should have made them beige and green like the Airwalk Enigmas and Vans Carrolls back in the day!

I think just depends on well ventilated the shoe is, the sock will be covered most of the time anyway.
Inner sock is allowed, but when it becomes part of the shoe and your trousers don’t sit right, like those Kostons Spanky’s into, it’s a different world.

That would stop the hem of your jeans falling down behind the heel, so I’d say they worked.
I mean at securing the heel in the shoe rather than a Peter Smolik Sag no drag®️

Yeah. Rear strap did basically nothing and they were ok to skate in IIRC
