I’m torn; I really like everything other than the translucent sole. It’s the big thing that put me off the AVE shoe as well, but that “old spunk” shade of off-white is even worse.

Yeah don’t like the translucent sole either. No problem though, there are around 18,465,342 other styles of shoe to choose from.
Translucent sole is fine, it’s the messy looking stripes that make it look odd. The shoe underneath looks pretty nice.
As for trans soles, I like the look of the new Carrol lakais

They’re so much nicer on. I risked it and ended up buying three pairs. It looks like the toe box is far too big in photos but they’re so different on. Not so keen on the black ones with the black bumper though, the translucent works much better there.
Definitely liking these but holding out for the black ones, out in Feb I think. They’ve been on Gonz insta lately and look sick.
